The Fried Calamari was great. Probably my favorite thing. The Alligator Bites and fish bites were really good. The Coconut Shrimp was just okay. It didn’t really taste like coconut shrimp to me. The Mac and Cheese was extremely basic and bland. We couldn’t eat the hush puppies or chicken fingers from the 3 Items Tropical Grill Sampler Platter because they were really tough and overcooked. Just super dry insude. I’d give a 3.5 overal.

Everything is always good all the time! Long time supporter of Big Lick and this time did not disappoint. Delicious Monte Cristo and loaded potato soup. Even had Lauryn Hill as my server and she was nice and fast! She handled a big party and tended to us and several others without skipping a beat. Had to share my support with Living in Lynchburg FB page.

take our order, and then to deliver food twice. She then left without even saying that her shift ended while we were sitting there waiting for water and wanting to ask for additional items. We were the only customers in the establishment.
The food was OK. We ordered the fish tacos, the pork chop, and the chicken fingers. There was nothing that I would come back for other than the lovely ray of sunshine who ended up being our server right as we paid our check. Trinity is amazing! If you go to Big Lick Tropical Grill, make sure you ask for her.

A chill place for bite to eat. live music during Saturday night. It was not too crowded. I enjoyed the vibe. Their food was okay. I enjoyed our service though. She was very nice and she was helpful with deciding on our menu. I recommend their hush puppies if you are a fan of hush puppies like me. I could taste the onion and other spices. I have quite a few positive things to say about this place and it was worth the experience. I might come back for the convenience, but probably not because I’m craving something from their menu.

Overall the atmosphere is good, the live music is a nice touch. We ordered nachos, shrimp dinner with slaw, and jerk chicken. Our waitress provided good service, there was no wait time and the appearance of the restaurant is nice. There were no issues finding a parking spot.
I did not care for the consistency of the shrimp. The batter was too heavy, you could not recognize one end of the shrimp from the other.
The taste was okay once you got through the batter. The nachos and fries were tasty. The jerk chicken and rice were okay, but the chicken was a little dry.
This was my first visit, so I would be willing to try again and order a different dish.

Colorful tropical theme with outdoor covered porches and a smaller tiki bar hut. The hostesses were friendly though a menu couldn’t be located until later. (They were busy.) Once we found a seat in the bar area, we had to go back out front to have a hostess find us a waitress. We ordered two of the fried green tomatoes appetizer. Never received napkins or silverware, even after asking. Food was very bland. Unimpressive.
It appears the only draw is whatever band is playing at the time. Thankfully there was an amazing guest singer who raged for a couple of songs! Definitely made the drive over worthwhile!
