8.9 . My son and I had a great time talking with the owner Pete, he was super friendly. We ordered 2 pies and both tasted amazing, we also ordered the wings and they had a good flavor. Let the pizza cool a bit if eating in and it’s right out of the oven . When in the area be sure to stop by and try this spot out.

Bad pizza bad experience. Went here in September (2025) on my actual birthday hoping for a mellow time. First time eating there after growing up in nearby Watsonville my whole life. The old man at the counter immediately started screaming and yelling at myself and my elderly father in a foreign language seconds after approaching to order, without provocation. No attempt or apparent desire to communicate in English (or at all), just outright anger for no reason. The pizza was subpar as well and tasted like cardboard with cheese on it. Dont waste your money or time here just go to the taco shop next door (or Little Caesars). Garbage experience and horrendous customer service. Wish zero stars was an option.

Small little place to eat, mainly outside seating. However, calzones are delicious! They give you the option of choosing up to three toppings. Also tried their combination pizza which was also tasty and a garden salad that feeds up to two people. Looks like it’s family owned, a young lady helped me and was the sweetest. Will definitely be going back!

We ordered a specialty pizza “The Greek” and a salad (Also Greek! Lol).
They were both so delicious and amazing ! I highly recommend this pizza place! The hospitality and kindness from the owners was wonderful, they recommended a good drink combo that was a wonderful pairing! Sooooo yummy!!!

Pizza is 10/10, service…? Kind of off-putting. But at the end of the day if I had to choose between the two, I’d rather have exceptional pizza! And it was exceptional… surprisingly so! My partner and I were staying at a nearby AirBnB and this and the taqueria next door were the only two viable options. I’m really glad we stopped here because the pizza was wonderful… thick, soft crust… fresh delicious sauce… and just the right amount of cheese (and it wasn’t greasy!).
There is ample outdoor seating if that’s your thing. Otherwise it’s strictly takeaway. I’d gladly come back (=

I just discovered Big J’s Pizza recently. I was looking for some place that offered good eats without the overinflated price….. found it here!! Great food across the entire menu. I ordered food Friday and I’m going again tonight, 2 days later. The calzones here are fantastic, authentic and made with fresh locally grown toppings.

The pizza I have gotten from Big J’s is not bad, but is also not amazing in my opinion. I do have to say, in my experience, the staff consistently seem almost annoyed when they have a customer. They aren’t mean, but they almost make it seem like they’ve been inconvenienced when I place an order even though I’ve never seen any other customers inside (I’ve walked in to order probably 5-10 times). No facial expression, monotone, lots of sighing. It’s also strangely dark inside the building every time I go in. I’ll come back since there aren’t any other nearby options and I can look past the strange atmosphere / service to get a decent pizza.
