We’ve visited Big E’s Bar and Grill several times and we are always impressed. The space is clean, stylish, and welcoming. Outdoor seating is available. It is easily accessed by the nearby Great Allegheny Passage trail, and accommodates cyclists with an abundance of bicycle stands. The service is warm and friendly, and the food is phenomenal. A true local gem worth visiting again and again!

We held a dinner event here with about 20 people and everything was fantastic! The owner, Sharon, is the one I spoke with to reserve our space and time for our event and she was wonderful to work with. The service, food, drinks, and portions were excellent. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and well maintained. They did a great job with our group. Highly recommend!

I had the best filet steak of my life here this past Sunday. I have been to many fancy steak places, but this steak melted in my mouth, was so tender and juicy. We brought all 3 of our dogs who were treated like royalty! They have a whole dog menu with lots of great options! Honestly I can’t wait to go back.

While we enjoyed the former restaurant, I think the new owner has upped her game! Shari,, our server, was just a delight! Server was excellent, the food was next level & I had one of the best Bloody Maria’s in the US, handmade by the owner herself from scratch! Now I need to bring my crew here for dinner & drinks! Always loved the location & I like the updated rustic vibe. Can’t wait for nicer weather & we can enjoy the ample outdoor seating!

Large group got in right before us, so we waited and waited for our food to arrive…40 mins later I finally got my stuffed banana peppers and they were not good, disappointing really. Small portion, not cooked enough, very little filling and the sauce was just plain tomato sauce from a can. We also got a cup of cheddar cheese soup which was bland and tasted like velveeta and water. My wife, however, had the chicken Marsala and it was very good; a generous portion of tender chicken cutlets with a tasty sauce. Service was average, prices were on the high side but reasonable for the times.

Stopped in to try this restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Apparently a group of 15 adults and children had come in before us. We ordered breakfast… and waited… and waited… and waited some more. After at least 30 minutes we were informed that there was only one cook working and that our meals would be another 15 minutes at the least. We were also informed that – at 11am on a Sunday morning – they were already out of bagels, rye toast, and sausage gravy.

Having figured that an hour would have been sufficient to eat some scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast before driving to a baby shower in West Newton we just bagged the visit, paid for our coffee, and left. Service was always the weak link at this establishment going back to when it was Driscoll & Son’s Cafe. Can’t rate the food because we didn’t get any – even after waiting 45mins for some scrambled eggs. The waitress was apologetic and we have no complaints about her, but to be out of multiple items on a Sunday morning and not be able to serve even a half-full restaurant means that you can’t rely on eating here.

Great place. A very strong onion soup was a good starter and the stuffed banana peppers were also tasty. The chicken Marsala was a 10 of 10 and my wife’s burger was really good too. Great service, great people.

A wonderful stop on the GAP trail with an extensive menu. We tried the Poblano appetizer with sausage and cheese. Yum! The entrees were all good. Large portions. My friend had the fish tacos. 3 huge tacos. Lovely quiet place!

Absolutely Excellent! What a wonderful addition to Mon Valley. My husband and I stopped in for dinner after riding our motorcycles. We were greeted by the nicest and welcoming smile from Hailey. She was the absolute best server, and trust me, as a former server myself, she was on point. She did a flawless job. Our drinks were replenished timely, and everything came out at a great pace. The food is amazing! Sharon, the owner and our cook today, made us delicious entrees. The lemon-pepper cod filet melted in my mouth. I gave my husband JP a taste, and he agreed, very fresh and flavorful. He had the Mira’s Pasta, and they happily switched it to Fettuccine pasta for him. The atmosphere is comforting, and the decor is very unique. The prices are decent, especially for the portion sizes and quality. Highly recommended! We will be back, and we are telling everyone we know to try Big E’s Bar & Grill!
