Familiar Cajun-Creole eats such as po’ boy sandwiches, gumbo & jambalaya in an unassuming setting.

While in Springfield, MO we decided to try this place and WOW was it good.
Girlfriend had the Shrimp Po Boy that was AWESOME! The seasoning is second to none. I had the Cajun Hamburger cooked to perfection with just the right amount of sauce and seasoning.
We normally take pictures but the food looked and smelled so good we just had to dive right in. Do yourselves a huge favor and get over there a.s.a.p. You’ll be glad you did.

A great place for Cajun food in the middle of Springfield Missouri. Food was tasty. Everything was prepared to order and we didn’t wait long. We went on a Saturday for lunch. I would recommend Big Easy Grill if you have a craving for authentic Cajun food.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner and decided on the pork loin sandwich (tenderloin). Easily one of the best in Springfield. It’s not pounded too thin, it has good crunch, and the breading is well seasoned. Great flavor and it’s a really big sandwich. We split it for a light meal.
It comes with chips, but one of the options is sweet potato fries. Anytime that’s an option, that’s what I’m getting! Great fries with crunch, lightly dusted with sugar to bring out the sweet. I normally like more savory sweet potato fries, but this time we double down and got their bread pudding sauce for dipping. Very sweet, but holy cow that was good.
I highly recommend Big Easy. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked great, and we’ll be back soon to try more (although it’ll be hard to pass up that tenderloin).

I had the fried fish dinner. It was good! I will say, I’m used to getting 2 pieces for the same price or just slightly more at other places, but it was a good lunch portion. I definitely did not have leftovers. I think I found my new favorite hush puppies. I’ll take a large side order of those any day. They are Fire. No joke. I do like where the place is located. I forget about that side of town. It was nice and quiet out there. The staff were friendly as well! I look forward to trying more items on the menu!

This is a very good cajun restaurant. My wife is from Louisianna and she and her clan (when they visit) all give the Big Easy high marks. The Muffalatta, the shrimp Po-boy, and the fried fish dinner are all on point. This is all I’ve tried so far. Its not a fancy place. Its small with a neighborhood vibe, you order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. The service is fast and friendly. Its a great place for lunch especially if you are on a time budget.

Had the seafood gumbo for lunch, absolutely delicious. Buddy had a po’ boy and he loved it as well, even took some home for later. Service was a little slow for the crowd size, but worth it for the food. Not much wait staff, seating behind the kitchen only saw wait staff when they were bringing out food and we had to wait a good while to get our check. Ended up helping ourself to a to go box. Small cafe style atmosphere, a little dated as one would expect, but fits the style of food well.
Overall it was a good experience, delicious food, and I’d probably place an order to go next time.

I might be a little biased since I grew up on authentic Cajun food made by my mom, but I was excited to give Big Easy Grill a try. I ordered the fried oysters, boudin balls, and seafood gumbo.
The fried oysters weren’t too bad—crispy and decent flavor. But the boudin balls and gumbo didn’t really do it for me. Both had a strange smoky flavor that felt out of place, and the filé in the gumbo tasted old or maybe overdone. It just didn’t capture that true Cajun depth and comfort I’m used to.
The staff was nice and the portions were fair, but overall the food missed the mark for me. If you’ve had real Louisiana-style Cajun cooking, you’ll probably notice the difference.

Service was fantastic, great people! I had a shrimp poboy and fries. Both were really good. A half sandwich would have been plenty; a full was quite a bit of food. It all seemed to be reasonably priced to me. The water tasted weird, not sure why. Other than that, loved it and will probably be back!

the establishment should absolutely be ashamed with the product they are serving their customers. this alongside a side order of boudin balls costed me over $20. this is the chicken and sausage “gumbo”. as a cajun myself, i am fully aware that restaurant quality won’t be authentic but it should at least be QUALITY. this gumbo is grey looks greenish which if you look up what it SHOULD look like…is brown. the rice (even as a side order) was mushy. i called the restaurant and let them know of the poor quality and their response was “we will not refund you because you didn’t like it” and rambled on about how she knows it’s good and that my opinion shouldn’t be taken into consideration. i’m extremely disappointed.
