I love locally owned so I had to stop by. I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Being from the Midwest, I’ve had my fair share of Italian Beefs and this one really handled itself. Tons of phenomenal meat and the bread was perfect. I had it “wet” so it partially fell apart just how I liked it. I had it with extra hot peppers which added a great flavor though I think I’ll do 50/50 hot/sweet next time as I felt like that was missing. Awesome place will be back!

I was a little disappointed the first time I went, however I put the blame on myself for ordering something that I was not familiar with. So I decided to give them a second chance and just order a Chicago style hot dog. This way I can compare it to other Chicago-style hot dogs I have eaten. I was still disappointed because all the mustard was piled on one side, it was also a lot of mustard. Therefore the whole thing just tasted like mustard. I was hoping to give a five-star I like supporting family-owned businesses. Prices are pretty high as well over $20 for a fountain drink, french fries and a hot dog.

We tried the place because it seemed like the food would be good. My Italian cold sandwich was alright. We ordered Onion Rings and Zucchinis for takeout. When we got home we got 7- Onion Rings for $7.00 in a small bag and burnt Zucchini rounds that had no taste at all they cost $7.00 to for 9 rounds. Not returning to this place.

I’ve eaten at this place a number of times, under a number of different names. I want so badly to support small businesses but just skip this one and go to Portillo’s if you want Chicago style food that will taste like it’s actually worth the money you spent on it.

We love this place. We ate here a lot when it waa Lukes & now we love it for being Big Dawgs. The roast beef sandwich is my regular & it is loaded with tender beef on a really great roll, just the right chewy/crusty ratio. Clean clean clean & fast & delicious!

I ordered two extra hot Italian beef sandwiches and knew right away something was wrong. As soon as I took them out of the wrapper, there was a strong sour smell indicating the meat was spoiled. I couldn’t eat them and had to throw them away. Very disappointed.

I have finally found a place as good as the Luke’s it replaced in the Northwest. I have missed Luke’s pastrami sandwiches so much and I am so happy to have found their equal. So yummy! I highly recommend you check it out!

GREAT Chicago dogs, Polish sausage (both regular and “Maxwell” style with the FRESHEST crusty roll!), burgers & fries. I was starving so forgot to take pics! Next time, I’m getting an Italian beef. Forget those crappy dogs at Costco — pay a little more, support a local small business, and get something really delicious!!

Excellent food and staff. Had the Italian beef and onion rings. My sandwich was piled high, meat was super fresh. Onion rings were crispy, hot and delicious.
Restaurant was very clean and staff is very friendly and helpful with explaining their menu and options.
Had stopped next store at U Got It Barbershop and thought I give Big Dawgs a try after my haircut. Glad I did. Well worth it.
My new go to. Get my haircut at a great shop with super ladies and walk 50 feet and have great food.
Highly recommend this restaurant and support these folks.

Invited by a friend to try out this restaurant.
The gent and the counter was cool. Helped us through the menu when we had questions.
I ordered the pastrami, spicy. The French roll came out LOADED with pastrami. It was melting the provalone beneath it. I, personally wouldn’t like extra spicy mustard as I felt it didn’t have enough initially, but that’s just my own taste.
The gent at the counter checked on us a few times and was a very nice young man.
As they began to close the shop they encouraged us to take our time and enjoy our meal and they’d let us out when we were finished. Glad they didn’t rush us. They were very nice about it.
My friends had the two dog combo and another pastrami, but not spicy.
We all agreed it was great.
I will say, I wish the French roll was a little bit softer, but that’s a bit nit picky, IMO.
Give this place a try. I know I’ll be back when I’m in the area again.
Thanks for the great sammich!
