I can’t believe I’ve never left a review for this place before, but today’s the day! Big Daddy’s Kickin’ Chicken is hands down one of the best spots in Inglewood. I made the trip today after not visiting for about seven months—not because I don’t love the food, but because I live all the way on the other side of town. It’s a bit of a trek from Glendale (about an hour drive), but let me tell you, it was so worth it.
The food here is simply phenomenal. The sauce they serve with the chicken? Oh man, it’s next-level. It’s bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with a sweet, tangy kick that brings out the spices on the grilled chicken beautifully. Every bite feels like a celebration of flavor. And the sides? The mac and cheese, yams, and cornbread are all on point—pure comfort on a plate. It’s like they knew exactly what my soul was craving these past few days.
On top of the amazing food, the staff are some of the friendliest, most down-to-earth folks you’ll meet. They run a clean, welcoming spot that makes you feel right at home. I discovered this spot on Instagram and decided to give it a try today. I’m not usually a big fan of chicken since it can be dry and tough if overcooked, but this place completely changed my mind!
Chicken: So delicious and moist! Every bite was fantastic.
Cornbread: Soft, moist, buttery!!
Mac n Cheese: Made with real cheese and full of flavor—absolutely yummy.
Yams: Just the right amount of sweetness. I enjoyed every single bite.
Greens: Perfectly seasoned, not too salty, and not swimming in juice. They were just right!
Beans & Rice: Great seasoning with a good balance of beans to rice—not too much rice and just enough beans.
Customer Service: Excellent! My phone order was accurate, and the young man at pick-up was incredibly polite. Phone in order took about 15-20 minutes to be ready for pick-up.
Parking: Metered street parking. .25 cents each 15 minutes. Quarters only.
Facility: This is a pick-up-only spot with no seating to eat inside or outside. However, there is seating to wait for your food.

Every time I go to Big Daddy’s Kickin’ Chicken it is the same, great quality. The guy that cooks and takes the orders is always very friendly, and he always does a good job. His name is Corein. I definitely recommend you give him a chance if you’re willing to spend around $20 for a healthy and tasty chicken plate. I read the reviews for Big Daddy’s Kickin Chicken and I can see that Corein listens to the feedback and makes improvements. Everything that people suggested I can see he has implemented at the restaurant.

Happy I found them again because I use to rock this spot heavy when they were on Slauson. Delicious just like back in the day. My food was hot and not cold that’s a big plus for me. The gentleman behind the counter was nice too! My string beans was a little to salty for my liking but the yams seemed liked canned yams and the Mac could use an updated recipe. I’m here for the first time in LA. I searched for chicken places and picked this one. I’m so glad I did! I got the chicken plate with mac n cheese and yams. My boyfriend’s sides were mac n cheese and greens. Chicken was far from dry, the mac n cheese was perfect, the yams were not runny, and the greens tasted like they simmered all day. The cornbread was soft and delicious. This man’s ancestors have blessed his hands to cook! Only complaint is no seating to enjoy it there.

Excellent lucky find. Half chicken made to order along with two sides plus a cornbread was $18. They accept credit cards. Much better than airport lounge food so I highly recommend it.

Walked all the way from my Airbnb around 6 last night, only to find out it’s closed. Looks like it’s been closed for a while. All the windows are covered up, all lights off. The owner should really update the information. On here it says it’s open every day until 8 pm.
