Oak Meadow Ranch Whitehorse Steakhouse
Not recommended for large groups or corporate events.
We hosted a group of 30 employees, and unfortunately the experience did not align with the expectations or standards required for a large gathering. The event space was extremely cold, with old tarps hanging loosely and only a few underperforming propane heaters. At 8:30 PM, staff turned the heaters off without any notice, leaving our group uncomfortable and freezing for the remainder of the evening. At no point were we informed that we were expected to leave at 8:30 PM, even though the posted business hours online indicated the venue was open until 10 PM.
Our shuttle was scheduled based on the online hours of 10 pm however our group was forced to wait on a cold dock by the water for approximately 30 minutes, with no offer of assistance or alternative accommodations because they told us they were closed at 9 pm.
What was most unexpected, however, was that an individual who identified himself as the owner; later confronted one of our team members for posting an honest review about their experience. His response, both in person and online, came across as unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive, which raised additional concerns about how the establishment handles feedback and interacts with guests after the fact.
Overall, based on our experience, we do not feel this venue is an appropriate choice for large groups or corporate events that require reliability, professionalism, and ask for guest care.

The food at Big Daddy’s Cantina is pretty underwhelming. The flavors are bland, and there’s nothing here that will knock your socks off. The burger and fries were okay, but nothing memorable. The quesadillas were just average, and the rice lacked any seasoning. The tacos were decent but didn’t impress. Even the beer wasn’t very cold, which was disappointing. The service was just mid—nothing bad, but nothing worth raving about either. Overall, it’s a spot that’s just… okay. Probably wouldn’t rush back.

Look, I give it 5 stars for the outdoor experience of being on the lake, their staff is always helpful, and cooking hand made food. Not because it’s a 5 star restaurant with fine dining. Their burgers are one of my favorites, with brioche bun. Their onion rings are crispy, but not too thick with breading. Just how I like them. I actually hate leaving this review because I don’t want it to become too busy. But I have to, because they deserve it. GREAT dive! Just don’t actually dive in the marina.

We went to the pop up Christmas bar. The decor was very underwhelming. I’m not sure why we had to pay a fee. It didn’t cover anything exciting. I thought we’d be seated inside with festive lights and decor. Instead we were outside on a dark boat dock. The decoration we saw was a tv screen with a grinch screen saver that looked like you can get off YouTube. The cocktails were pricy and not great. The food was not fresh and we all got sick the next day. Our server was so sweet and great, but I would not recommend.

Love anyplace in the water. Service and the view were awesome, however the catfish basket and onion rings were just not good. The beer was nice and cold. People seemed to like the burgers.

Fantastic vibe! Plenty of seating, some covered. Live music, great staff, good variety of food AND drinks. Definitely check it out – very cool setting and plenty of space for large groups. Felt very welcomed here and look forward to coming back!

We stopped in for the views, first and foremost. We ate here once before but back before it was a full on restaurant. The service was good. Our waitress was nice and took care of us.
The food runner could do a better job of not putting his finger on the food he delivers. Both plates and the appetizer were meet with his wonderful thumb all up in our food as he placed it on the table lol.
The food itself was super bland. The onion rings had no flavor. Don’t be afraid to throw some seasoning in that breading. Same with the burger and fries. The burger sauce was generous but again, no flavor.
This is a small annoyance but if I’m paying $16+ per plate at a restaurant, I feel like we should get actual Ketchup bottles at the table and not served packets.
Overall it’s not a bad place. The views of the lake. The sound of the water are great. Just left me wanting more from the food.

Love coming here! Grace is the best bartender there and makes great drinks!
They have live music, a good happy hour menu, and you can ask for duck food for the ducks (and fish) which my two year old thinks is so fun!
