Myself and others couldn’t have had a better experience here. We rolled up as a party of 14 and we were immediately greeted by the store manager, Trevor, who was genuinely excited to greet us and assure us that they’re more than happy to accommodate such a large group of people with no notice.
We went for the breakfast buffet which, for what you’re getting, is an incredibly fair price. Everything was much better than I had expected considering it was buffet style. The food was hot and fresh and when something ran out, it was refilled quickly. The other staff member I talked to was also courteous and seemed excited that the food was flying off the buffet. You could hear Trevor going into the back to update his team on what was running out, what was running low, and to get his staff excited. As we were checking out, Trevor rang us up and again, I cannot overstate how professional and kind he was. I’m not sure when I’ll be in the area again, but I will 100% come back the next time I’m around.

We really miss the Big Boy restaurants from our past. When we travel east we always look for them. We have found most of the restaurants really needing deep cleaning and updating. This one is no exception. When we pulled into the parking lot the restaurant appeared closed and under construction. There was a white piece of paper on the front door and one door was blocked by children’s highchairs.
We found the other door open and we had lunch. We had a great and attentive server. The food was ok.
We hope the big boy restaurants can turn it around.

I have been here several times over the years and had good food and good service. Told my friend let’s go there for breakfast. Took 15 minutes to get seated. Waitress took our order and said the kitchen is behind it’s going to take a while. I ordered a 3 egg omelet with sausage, cheese, gravy and dark rye toast. My friend ordered 3 egg omelet with sausage, cheddar cheese, gravy, and multigrain toast. I got her omelet and both omlets had dried up hard sausage kinks cut in peices as the sausage she brought me wheat bread not dark rye, the when she brought the rye it was light. I asked for equal sweetener and never got it. Will not be back again.

Place is dirty and not kept up on. Walked in and the hostess/waitress complained under her breath that we were coming in 30 minutes before close. Had an attitude seating us. The second she seated us she turned off the salad bar… 35 minutes before closing. We got the hint. We decided to get up and leave before ordering. The waitress then told customers at the other table about how bitchy we were.
This is why I don’t go here often. Don’t recommend. We went to Taco Bell instead.

Ordered “Bobs spicy chicken sandwich” and boy it tasted… fine, but the texture was like I was chewing on a block of rubber. The chicken was so bad. This place is falling apart, and the outside is overgrown and looks like a damn jungle, I could barely walk up the stairs from the dock.

Went in for the breakfast buffet with my wife and daughter, our server tina was super nice bubbly and quick to meet our needs! the buffet was fresh and the kitchen staff was quick to fill anything that was running out. Would highly recommend its very affordable for what you get! The morning manager Ryan was super friendly and great at keeping his staff motivated and keeping their spirits high. Its nice to see bigboy coming back up in the world, i know ill be visiting again soon!

I stop by a few times a week for breakfast. The food and service are excellent. Great atmosphere especially for breakfast, several of the regulars are there early in the morning, great conversations. Cheboygan would be lost without the Big Boy, central location for many of the local citizens to meet. The staff are excellent, spot on in every way, coffee cup is always full.

We went there host seated us asked us what we wanted to drink took a couple seconds longer than he liked so he walked away to seat more people amd get them drinks before walking by us saying whats so hard about picking a drink before we left as he watched unconcerned that we were leaving due to his rudeness. If the quality of food is anything like the service we didn’t miss anything.
