Haven’t been to Big Boy in years. Came here this morning with my wife. We were kindly greeted as we walked in. And seated promptly. Our host who was also Our waiter brought out our drinks and took our orders. The food and service was excellent.
We will definitely think about Big Boy [especially this location] next time we want breakfast out.

Stopped in around 6:30 pm on a Thursday evening and placed a take out order for two. The waitress told me it would be about 15 minutes. After about a half hour a different waitress approached me and asked me info for the take out order. Took another 10 minutes to retrieve my order and get cashed out. Get home and the food was cold and missing a side of fries. They were a little less than 50% capacity at the time. The last time we were there to eat a few months before the service was poor (long wait) and my wife’s food was sent back due to being overcooked . They have a long way to go to be back to where they were when they first opened! Management needs to get their act together.
EDIT: Gave it another chance 6/11/25 arriving at 4pm with only 4 tables seated. Went from bad to worse. Reduced from 3 stars to 1. I ordered a slim jim combo and salad bar and my wife ordered the classic blockbuster breakfast. Asked twice for silverware & napkins. I ended up going to the counter and selecting it myself from a basket of clean silverware. Waitress (name Pandora was on the receipt) brought her order missing the hash browns and only bacon, no sausage links. Bacon was overdone. Questioned the waitress and she said my wife didn’t ask for hash browns in an argumentative manner… Why ask for it if it’s supposed to come with it! And supposed to include 2 bacon and 2 links! She then brought out a plate of undercooked hash browns soaked in grease! The acting supervisor (no manager on the premises) ended up comping the breakfast and making her a new plate. My slim jim sauce didn’t really taste like normal slim jim sauce… Maybe just like mayo? The salad bar was in sad shape too.
EDIT: 10/3/25 – This will be the last addition to my reviews of this Big Boy location. Lately we have only been going to the Hall Rd & Garfield location but last minute my wife was craving a Big Boy burger so I stopped to pick her one up and I got a “best cheeseburger on the planet”, both with fries. She said her sandwich didn’t taste like a Big Boy usually does. But my cheeseburger was a joke! Maybe because it was prepared for carryout? Can’t believe they would serve it to a sit down customer! (see attached pic) supposed to have lettuce, tomato and red onion among other ingredients. After a couple bites I took a look under the bun. A tiny tomato slice, a dab of shredded lettuce and no red onion!! After a few about 4 visits here over time there has not been one good experience! Unreal!

So we have been here several times and never had service like this before here or anywhere for that matter. We get seated and it took the waitress a bit to get to us. We were told there was no ice so the drinks wouldn’t be as cold. Not a big deal, but we ordered 2 Starry and 2 waters. The waitress got the Starry right but then went to the sink to get our water instead of using the pop machine and selecting water. We know the water was working out of the pop machine because we watched the other waitress get water out of the machine. I will say our waitress was “out of it” she seemed drunk or high or both. She was not with it at all. She didn’t know how to put our order in the machine and when she took our order she didn’t put the bill in at all so it took us about 20 min to I get our food. Our kids spilled their drink we asked for napkins we did not get them after repeatedly ask for them. We actually used our hoodie to wipe up the rest of the pop because it was taking so long for our waitress to come back with the napkins. She was completely out of it and almost didn’t know what she was doing. She was running from table to table and she only had 2. Her name was Lisa. The manager asked us how service was and we said it was not good. The fact that we had to use our own hoodie to wipe our table is mind blowing to me. The manager was nice and gave us free cookies. But seriously Lisa needs retraining. I don’t know if we will be back.

My first visit to the newly opened Big Boy in front of the Big Boy Arena.
Since it’s lunchtime on a Sunday, of course I went for the breakfast buffet. (I try to avoid making decisions on the weekends. Buffets let you have it all. )
My table’s ketchup was empty after one squirt so I stole from the next unoccupied table. Same problem. Tried another & that one was already gone. Gave the two empties to the server (Scott) but, even after he refilled my water & later dropped off the bill, I got no filled bottle returned.
At my second trip, since no ketchup was to be had, my choices were severely restricted. So, French toast. Damn, the syrup is almost gone! Was able to scrap enough out for my serving but woe to those who followed me, that tank is dry. No pancakes, French toast or waffles getting eaten now. Guess salad is unaffected.
The food is good, filling and a fairly wide selection for breakfast. Not as hot as expected, though.
The industrial vibe inside does have one detriment: echoes/volume. Concrete floor and exposed ductwork make for a louder-than-necessary environment.
I’ll come back, I ❤ B.B. for many reasons. I’m hoping this visit was a one-off. Too many issues.

At first I was gonna write a bad review about my service experience. But their is a lot of hate going around in this world. So I’m gonna make this review about what I hope is not an underappreciated worker.. I was starting to get annoyed at first with my service. But then I noticed our server seemed to be struggling.. now, you never know what someone else is going through. And this world is pretty messed up.. and another server stepped in to help she even came to our table and was so nice and charming. She apologized and said even though she wasn’t my server she would get our drinks. Instead of getting upset because she was tending to other tables on top of hers she was very helpful. She went above and beyond. I actually thanked her profusely and asked her if they were short staffed because I thought she must be a manager. I really hope she got the tip I left because she definitely deserved it. She was even helping other workers check ppl out as I was leaving the restaurant. That’s a hard working young lady that went above and beyond. I know this review is long. I used to work in the restaurant business myself and I believe that hard good workers get underappreciated.
And I really hope this is not the case with the lady, that wasn’t even my server.
If you guys want great service, ask for Angela. She was somehow on top of her 3 or more tables and willing to help others.
I see manager in her future.

Husband and I have been craving big boys for months. Always end up forgetting that option. Last night we remembered. We figured we’d try the one on Utica figuring it’s the newest around out of all of them in the area. Worst decision. Walked in, wasn’t greeted. Looked at by both the waitresses multiple times before one decided to come over to us. There was 2 tables sat ( one table with 4 & one with maybe 10 ppl) We got seated, table dirty. Our waitress maybe was newer but wasn’t welcoming at all. I was interested in the soup so I checked those out while waiting to order and it was a complete disgusting mess, whole salad bar looked like it hadn’t been cleaned up all day, soup looked crusted, old and burnt. We ordered the Dolly sliders to start, nothing special but the chicken was a little over cooked. We both got the big boys and I mean we did wait a nice time for just two burgers. Mine was dropped off by the other waitress (which she was nice, very all over the place though) at that time we still had no silverware, no napkins. I told her we should still have another one coming and she looked super confused. She walked away and came back stating the other one will be up shortly and sorry about the confusion. During the time she was gone though I was checking mine out, burger over cooked, bread a little hard, cheese cold as ever and just poorly made. Ended up just sending it back and asking for the bill for the dolly sliders. Manager I assumed? Very nice, came by and talked to us, no issues with him. Overall place was pretty dirty; floors, tables, all of the soup and salad bar. Definitely was upsetting figuring we were craving for so long. Maybe will try another location eventually but won’t be back to this one

I ordered a Carryout over the phone for a Slim Jim with no sauce a dinner salad croutons only with thousand island on side. I went to pick up my order. It was not ready. I found it. It was throwback prices so I said I would be back, but I’d like another Slim Jim no sauce with fries. I was eating one slim Jim with fries for dinner taking the other slim Jim and salad to work both sandwiches had sauce on it. There was no tomato on the sandwich. Got to work the next day. Everything was on my salad. There were at least four servers waitresses and hostess and a manager. I still had to wait for my order when I got there . this was a very bad experience and not the first one at this big boys . I used to work at big boys many years ago and it was never like this.. The wait staff all seemed frazzled , it was very unorganized , even though the price was good. The food was not. Very disappointed

I’ve been coming to Big Boy since I was a and I Love coming here with my kids. The staff and manager, I think Jackie was her name. Absolutely perfect experience. The kids like the claw machine too. 10/10 would highly recommend

Came over for breakfast last weekend. Had the bar. For the most part, well stocked. All the food was fresh. We got there around 10:30am so a few items were getting a little low. Staff was very friendly. Store was very clean.
