Amazing! This “underground” restaurant is extremely good in terms of price and food. Everything we ordered was relatively cheap and came in a huge portion that we packed up for that night’s dinner. As an added bonus, they have bubble tea and their taro flavor is great. If you’re ever in State College, check this place out!

I liked the food. It was an order of Singapore Rice Noodles, Teriyaki Beef with Rice, and Garlic Chicken Fry. Let’s start with the Singapore Noodles. It was very clean in terms of taste. Less oily, less spices!! I liked it. What I noticed was the proportion of veggies and meat to the rice noodles; it was not perfectly proportional. Veggies were hard to find!! Meat and shrimp could be a little bit more. Then, Teriyaki Beef was really good to taste!! Rice and beef was perfectly proportional. The total portion can be shared with another person. Lastly, the Garlic Chicken Fry!! It was way too salty! I loved the atmosphere at the underground. In total I spend $34. I couldn’t finish all so took away the rest.

Fantastic shrimp and pork wanton noodle soup! The entrance is a little tricky to find, you have to look for the stairs that go down one floor below street level. Otherwise it’s a pretty basic but spacious Chinese restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the portions are a good size.

Great food, quick service. General Tso’s is meh (too sweet), but I love the Chicken with Broccoli and the wonton soup.

I have literally been coming to big bowl noodle house for 10 years now. It was the first Chinese restaurant I ate at after moving to US for college; my now-fiancé and I had our first date here when we were broke college kids; I took my whole family here on my graduation day; now once in a while, I still drive 3+ hours to eat here on a weekend! To me, the taste of big bowl noodle house is the taste of home.

I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and can’t believe this is my first time trying this place. The menu is massive with tons of different options. Since it’s a noodle house, I got the Singapore rice noodles with shrimp and a side of dumplings. The ingredients are super fresh and portions are large. I thought it was also very affordable. I think the food tasted just as good once reheated. Can’t wait to go back.

Food always been on time and delicious when I’ve went in. Huge portions while still being much cheaper than everywhere else I’ve tried in State College, but perhaps every where. Cash only may seem outdated but that is how they can maintain these rates/portions. Easy enough. My gf has IBS and they were very kind customizing her order a bit to swap some ingredients out, even while busy. Wait times are never long as they have a large hardworking staff.

Tried the specials and they were good! Food takes time to come out but it’s worth waiting for. Can ask for chili oil (which I need). Wantons are good. Bought 3 dishes in total but couldn’t finish. A portion is usually enough for 1.

The Asian food that done right. 10 years ago it was one of my favorite place to eat when I was in college. After moving back in town, the taste is still great and the price is good! Highly recommend if you’re are in town and craving for Asian food!
