I’m extremely disappointed with this place. Not only are the prices ridiculous for the amount of food you (don’t) get, but, as another review mentioned, with a name like “Big Bowl”, the size of the main portion of the meal is significantly lacking. The flavor of the “orange” chicken is definitely not like any other orange chicken we’ve ever had, and the rice tasted more like overcooked peppered rice than a Chinese fried rice. The only decent thing about this combo was the chicken egg roll. I don’t know if these prices are typical of this establishment, or if they’re inflated because it’s the airport location. Regardless, I can’t believe I had to pay $39 for ONE combo meal and 2 fountain drinks. See included photos.
Big Bowl, do better!

I ordered a Combination Bowl with Orange Chicken and Kung Pao, and paid extra to have noodles as the base. Overall, I’d give the experience three stars.
The food was edible but greasy, nothing particularly memorable. The Orange Chicken was on the sweeter side, while the Kung Pao had a bit of heat but lacked depth in flavor.
Service was just okay—not rude, but definitely not friendly or helpful. A bit more warmth from the staff would have gone a long way in improving the overall experience.
If you’re in a rush and craving something hot, this will do, but don’t expect much beyond the basics.

Staff was fine but this location will diminish the brand. It tasted soooo basic for what should be restaurant quality food. Panda Express is way better. Definitely not worth 22 bucks. White rice is recommended. The noodles and fried rice looked over seasoned. They also gave me the last scrapings of meat too. It was edible but a let down.

Paid $25 for a bottle of water and some sesame chicken. For a place with the name “Big Bowl”, the portion size is remarkably small. Sure, the sesame chicken was pretty good, but I’ve had much better at local take out restaurants for less than half the price. I recommend you do not waste your money here, and grab a burger instead. It will not satisfy your “craving” for Chinese food.

Food was terrible! The sesame chicken literally taste nothing like any sesame chicken I’ve ever had. It’s like they poured only soy sauce and teriyaki sauce on the chicken. The noodles are slack as well! Literally nothing is good/normal tasting besides the white rice. My husband got the orange chicken, and it was funky tasting too! Waste of money.

Update September 29, 2024
They have replaced human interaction ordering food with kiosks that are quick and easy to order the food from. Hate to say it, but this is an improvement since as you can see in my review from a year ago, the human based service here was not good at all.
Now all it has become is just a semi decent, unhealthy yet convenient food option at the Midway airport.
Having said that, check out the picture I have attached of king pao chicken dish I got. It’s mostly rice and a few pieces of chicken. Price: $17.99 plus tax. I think it’s a bit ridiculous but you can make your own judgment.

Big bowl people, please don’t ruin your good name and do something about this location.
As the other reviewers have said, service at this airport location is truly awful. Replace these people who are not serving your customers and ruining your brand.

I usually love trying new Asian restaurants, but this was unfortunately the worst experience I’ve ever had. The food lacked freshness and flavor everything tasted either bland or overly greasy. The rice was clumpy and overcooked, the noodles were soggy, and the meat had an odd texture that didn’t feel properly prepared.
Service was slow despite the restaurant not being busy, and when the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm. The prices didn’t match the quality either I left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for good Asian cuisine.

First off this is an airport location – so the price and portion size are just awful. The food quality is also poor. Service? Well, you order from a kiosk machine and pay there and wait and pick up at the end of the counter where the employees who really don’t care shove your food towards you and immediately walk away. No chance to ask a question. It’s rough. Also, being at Midway airport, there are so many restaurants in that area, tables are super hard to come by and you are so lucky if they are CLEAN tables. Trash cans are full, tables are dirty, floors are sticky, this is such a bad experience. DO NOT go here!

I ordered 2 “combination” plates. It was almost $50 (receipt attached). What makes it worse is that the employees were very rude to everyone who patronized their business. The lady was calling out Joel, which is not my name, then got mad when nobody responded. It was then I realized that the guy didn’t get my name correct on the receipt. They should just call the check number if they cant get people names correct. Taxes are ridiculous here. Dont give bad service and businesses your business. However, the food wasn’t terrible. Service made it bad.

About what you can expect from Airport Asian cuisine. A bit pricey, but if you’re going to eat here, do what I should’ve done and get the second entree for $2 more. You’re already spending $18-20 for the meal if you eat here.
My overall impressions: the entree was a solid 8.4/10 but the jasmine rice was very disappointing. It was undercooked and very dry, almost crunching as I chewed it. They need to figure out the ratios and add more water for that side. The other sides cost anywhere from $2 extra to $7. Not worth getting the other sides. I hate wasting food, but if you get the second entree and the rice is bad you still get a full meal and don’t have to feel as bad about paying so much for your food. The rice definitely brings the rating down to a 3.5/10 from the 8.4 you get with the entree.
