Steak was thick and tender, but it had no flavor. I noticed a lot of older people inside the restaurant when I picked up my food, so maybe they cater their seasoning towards their taste palette. Also ordered breakfast (white chocolate pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon), which was great. I only gave 3 stars because of the bland steak.

I had an excellent dinner at The Big Apple Restaurant in Peru, IL and it was worth the drive! I ordered a large broiled ribeye cooked medium with mushrooms, and it was perfect — juicy, tender, and seasoned exactly right. Easily one of the best ribeyes I’ve had anywhere.
The fresh Greek salad was a meal by itself — loaded with fresh onion, green peppers, tomato, egg, olives, and feta as though it came right from a Greek kitchen. The baked potato was hot and fluffy with butter and sour cream, and the three onion rings were big, crispy, and delicious. Even with just water to drink, the whole meal came together beautifully.
Service was fast, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was clean, cozy, and family-friendly — busy, but comfortably so. Pricing was fair, especially considering the quality and portion sizes.

I had the most amazing experience yesterday at The Big Apple Restaurant in Peru, Illinois!
My whole family and I went, and everyone loved their meals, but I have to specifically rave about the lasagna. It was absolutely divine—the perfect comfort food and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything, from the presentation to the final bite, was simply delicious.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere was wonderful. The environment was noticeably clean, and the staff was so incredibly welcoming. They offered truly great customer service and genuine hospitality.
The highlight of the evening was the unexpected bonus of meeting up with old friends and acquaintances. We had a great time conversing, and the restaurant provided the perfect, comfortable setting for us to catch up. It’s definitely the right place for a fantastic meal and great company. Pretty good 1st time here. Thought we would try this place after getting glasses out here. Food was delicious! The Texas burger was huge and juicy. Cooked just right. Bacon was crispy. I didn’t like the America cheese on it though. Texas toast instead if a bun…. Salad was descent. Not too bad. Wish there was some romaine or rugala in it. Tried the cheesy broccoli soup and there was only 2 pieces of broccoli in it. Very creamy. Waitress was real friendly and nice. Took our dirty dishes away quickly. Service was excellent. Will definitely go back.

My first trip to Big Apple has now become a regular night out for dining! Such a great menu, and at a price that won’t break the bank. When you can enjoy an entrée, main course and dessert for 4, that would’ve cost that much for 2 anywhere else, that alone made it worth it.

Very good food and reasonable prices. We waited about 5 minutes for service and about 20 minutes for our food. Salads came right away.
If you’re in a hurry, be sure to get noticed when you sit down. A couple parties that came after us were served before we were. One hamburger came without the requested toppings. Other than that, great place.
