Traditional seafood boils are the specialty at this down-home, kid-friendly Cajun staple.

Kegan was sooo awesome. She made sure our family was served and refreshed as often as possible. She outshined our 2nd server we had on the next day ( which was less busy, and less crowded) ( blonde lady didn’t refill our drinks, had to almost track her down to get serviced). Compared to kegan.. kegan is the best. Ask for her. Tip her. Give this Kegan a promotion. She is top tier!!! Awesome, awesome, awesome. Very cool atmosphere as well. Somebody did a nice job! ( – I am an out of towner, don’t know Kegan, glad I met her super sweet lady!!)

Enjoy classic, fresh seafood from local waters, including crawfish, Gulf shrimp, oysters, crabs, gumbo, and po-boys—all your regional favorites.
Service was quick and attentive. I visited for the boiled crawfish and shrimp (sold by the pound), which were excellent. The seafood gumbo was flavorful, and I’d opt for a bowl next time.
For a laid-back, local seafood dining experience, this place hits the mark.

I have never tried alligator before. I tried this reptile’s meat for the first time at Big Al’s. I heard before that if you are not told that it is alligator, you will think that you are eating chicken. That is true. But it is still worth trying for the sake of appearances. In short, this restaurant definitely deserves 5 stars. If only because at 11 am, when it opens, there are no free seats. Locals will not go to a bad restaurant. By the way, it was locals who recommended this place to me.

The food is great, but pricey. Everytime we’ve been here the host has had one glove on his hand while rolled silverware and touching everything else with that same glove on included wiping his nose and using his cellphone. That glove is not sanitary whatsoever. Honestly I’d rather see you use hand sanitizer and no gloves if you’re trying to be proactive like that. Today we were seating and waiting 10 minutes before a lady dropped off crackers in a basket and did not say a word, not her name, and did not take out drink order. We waiting patiently for another 10 minutes then asked the host to check on our waitress or a new one if she had too many tables. Still no service. We got up and left, if the service started out that slow and poorly I didn’t want to find out how long our food took. Customer service is half the battle in the food industry. Please take this under advisement.

Absolutely love big Al’s. I was in Louisiana recently and got to try several of the entrees and none of them disappointed! The crab legs were amazing. The fried seafood was amazing. We tried raw oysters as recommend by the local that took us to try the place and they were the best I have had. The gumbo also was really good. I’d say it’s safe to say you can’t go wrong choosing any entree on the menu at Big Al’s seafood in Houma, Louisiana.

Nice surprise. Had not been here before. My dad took us and said we’d love it. It was very delicious! We had the onion mum as an appetizer and the batter on there was perfect. It was nice and light- nothing too heavy. And was yummy! The seafood potato was absolutely the best! I’d order that again. Also had a crab patty cake thing. I called it a crabby patty. That was nice and light as well. Oh! Crab soup, cream based – YUM.
Shrimp platter was plentiful. Service was excellent. Very friendly staff.

Every time we are in Houma, we visit this place! They have really good food and are reasonable. They even have crawfish right now (there is a shortage). They were decent sized too. The crabs were great. The food was just wonderful.
