My partner and I have been ordering here almost once a week for a year.
We don’t mind waiting, but when we live a 2 minute drive down the road, maybe don’t tell us it will be 15-20 minutes, then make us wait an hour and 20 minutes. We had to call 3 times in total. The second time we called was an hour after placing the order, they said 8-10 minutes. Then 20 minutes later we called a third time and they said “aw the driver has a few orders”. That’s all. Not even a proper clarification or apology.
I apologise to the delivery driver as I was not exactly happy to talk to him. I asked for a discount and he said he “can’t do anything about it sorry”. The driver did the best he could.
We will not be ordering here again unless this can be resolved.
Something I’m not a fan of is that the store front advertises “$5.95 traditional pizzas” which actually only includes margherita, garlic, or nutellas pizzas.
Other than that, it was a pleasant experience. I walked in, there were 3 customers before me and I still only waited about 10 minutes ordering over the counter.
What made the experience even better was the super friendly staff. From the moment I walked in, they were welcoming and attentive, making sure everything was just right. It’s clear they care about their customers and the quality of their food.
If you’re in the mood for some great pizza and fantastic service, I highly recommend giving Big Al’s a try!
What struck me the most was the lack of activity in the store, especially for a Friday evening at 8:30 pm. It seemed like my order was the only one being prepared, which raised some concerns about the popularity of their pizzas. The quiet atmosphere suggested that perhaps others have also found their offerings to be lacking in taste.
Big Al’s Pizza has potential, but there’s definitely room for improvement. Enhancing the flavours of their pizzas and adding some excitement to their menu would go a long way in regaining the trust of their customers. Despite the underwhelming experience, I appreciate the professionalism of the staff and hope to see positive changes in the future.
