Delicious!!!
Best stop we made all week! Visiting from FL and spending a week around grandfather mountain. Could not get a before picture because I DEVOURED my burger. The whole fam had different items. Smoked chicken wrap, brisket sandwich, turkey sandwich, potato salad, collard greens, etc. They have many sauce options. Even a Rhubarb pie!! with ice cream. Everything was so good! The service was even better. Definitely come here! Highly recommend!!!

Had the Sunday special which was a quarter chicken with two sides and dessert.
The chicken was pretty excellent. I loved the potato salad (mustard and pickle based) was top notch. I liked the collard greens though i thought they needed a little vinegar.
I didn’t care for the Mac and cheese. Pretty sure it was made with Velveeta and I don’t really like that taste.
The banana pudding was excellent.
The tea had a flavor to it that I didn’t care for, perhaps isn’t fresh brewery, not sure.
The restaurant as a whole was very smoky. It was all in our clothes for the rest of the day.
The people were all super nice. Will be back for sure.

Review from the perspective of my 12 yr old daughter:
Big Al’s was a good restaurant. There were a lot of options on the menu and I got the BLT with a side of Coleslaw. The BLT was good, though the lettuce tickled my mouth and the Coleslaw had a bit too much mayonnaise. The wait for my food didn’t take too long. They had miniature corn hole to keep me entertained. There was music and a TV show playing
I had the BBQ Pork platter. Portion size was quite generous. They offer three selections of BBQ sauce, a vinegar, a sweet, and a hot. Platter comes with 2 sides, bread, drink and dessert of the day

This place is amazing! They sure know how to smoke— the Brisket and the Chicken were the best ever. The music is great— stumbled upon live bluegrass on a Sunday afternoon. The people are so nice and kind!! Great bar and an amazing selection of ice cream too!! But save room for the banana pudding. We can’t wait to return!

We had our first visit. We walked in tryingnto figure out if we sat our selfs or if we waited. We seen the order here sign and got the menu for our selfs. Still at this point we had spoken to no staff. A guy finally came over the the register I told him it was our first time there and ask we d what was best. He just stared at me didnt say anything. So at this point my kids were ready to eat so I started ordering. They were out of everything we tried to order. We finally got around to what they did have. We got the food and the smoked chicken sandwiches we got 3 were terrible. It was shredded chicken and it was so hard like it was the last few bits in the panamd had been out all day. It was around 530-6 when we got there. The vibe of the guy taking our order was so odd. If you go maybe go at opening so they have everything fresh! Maybe working on costumer service and the over all vibe of the place.

It was hard to find an eatery open on a Sunday and I’m so glad we took a chance and came here. The nicest service from owners and staff. Wife’s barbecue sandwich was superb. I got the smoked chicken plate 1/4 dark with two sides, fountain beverage, dessert for $15! Very good iced tea.
Crazy busy and for good reason.
Yes, we’ll be back.

Stopped by Big Al’s pub today for lunch and the Hawaiian Teriyaki pork wrap Chef Special was delicious. The potato salad was so tasty. Topped it off with a homemade strawberry pie! Highly recommend food, atmosphere, and staff! Great job all the way around! JLH

Kind of a weird place. Basically a cafeteria and a bar sharing a space but being operated separately. You order food at a desk and your drinks at the bar, which is on the other side of the room, and you pay separately. And then the music is in a separate building altogether. The food was not great. Ribs are hit-or-miss. My friend and I both ordered the baby back ribs. Mine were pretty good, his were dry. My wife was not happy with her smoked chicken salad. Salad was boring and the chicken was dry and tough. Between my wife and I, we had 2 meals and 3 drinks and spent $60 including tip. Not bad for a night out, but seemed like a lot for the cafeteria feel.

So thankful for this place! Dry rub wings and the 1/4 chicken were amazing! Familiar face behind the bar 😉 and she was as amazing as always. Great tap selection and the space was super comfortable and welcoming.
Looking forward to next visit and can’t wait to listen to some music there! Btw THEY HAVE PBR ON TAP! Try a 50/50 of PBR and a cider and thank me later 🙂

Where the locals go!! Awesome southern comfort food. We were there for live music — heard the Pressley Laton Band on a Friday night which was phenomenal. For food, I had the Pub Club Sandwich with a side of collards which was SO GOOD.. gonna be hard to decide between getting it again or something new next time… I was so hungry I forgot to take a pic. Can’t wait to come back!! The cooks are true locals who know how to make dang good southern food. Oh & the bartenders are great, Kali especially! There are two buildings, the one on the left has the bar & kitchen. Directly beside it to the right is the music venue which you can take your food & drinks in to. Awesome spot!!
