this was my second & last visit to the “corn shucker” beer haus…while it’s somewhat unique in Lincoln – poor service & staff isn’t a plus – what a great opportunity to showcase German culture – instead it’s average & ordinary beer selection – I didn’t see a Hefeweizen on tap – ? no german wines?…even 2 would be wonderful, just a Liebfraumilch or reisling, why expect everyone in a party to want a beer?..I was really up for a glass of zeller schwartz katz, instead the bar maid pulled a bottle of WARM chardonnay off the shelf- when I tried to suggest/implore the surly bar manger to consider a German wine offering, he said “this is a beer haus, go next door if you want wine”…OK, good idea, you won’t have to ask me twice – he forgets I’ll tell anyone who listens now about that experience…PS almost forgot to ask ? why aren’t any of the staff smiling?…I saw ONE staff member among a dozen with a smile – toxic work environment?..you’ll be the judge

This is a cool place. The inside is neat, and my husband really enjoys their Beer. they have a very limited menu. We tried the special “blueberry sausage and pancakes” and was disappointed that the pancakes were just the frozen pancakes I get for my kids.

This is a special place. Giant pretzels, boots of beer, whisky from Lincoln’s only distillery, and a rooftop bar all in the heart of the historic Haymarket downtown. Whether you want to watch the game downstairs, take someone special out on the roof to see the city lights, or taste a flight of craft beers with a good friend, the Bierhaus has you covered.

Food and drinks are significantly overpriced. This so-called “Octoberfest“ is misleading. Plus, charging an entrance fee to the dog pen is unreasonable. Labeling it “Octoberfest“ constitutes false advertising. If anyone has ever attended a traditional Octoberfest, then they would not go there. Period.

The new German Restaurant Bierhaus Maisschäler on P Street in in Lincoln is a refreshing change for downtown. All the old familiar restaurants are still pretty great but Bierhaus Maisschäler offers some really great German fare. I didn’t have a lot of time, and I didn’t want to ruin dinner so I ordered a German pretzel and imported German Dunkel beer, a traditional afternoon treat. The beer was great and the authentic soft pretzel and mustard was amazing.

Stop is sometime. Give them a try. If you like authentic German food then this is your restaurant in Lincoln.

Awesome place! You cannot go wrong stopping in here and grabbing a pretzel and a beer or two. Very friendly staff. They were crowded for a Cornhusker game but everything flowed well. If you get a chance, stop up on the roof bar also. Nice views. Plenty of shade. There was a band up there also but it was not too loud.

What a great experience. After living in Germany for almost 10 years this was a great find. Lots of beers to choose from and a welcoming bier garten. We didn’t eat but saw the food and it looked tasty. Loved the atmosphere and it will make you feel like ur missing Deutschland or at home. A must if ur in the area. Thank you and see you soon.

I absolutely love going to Bierhaus Maisschäler—it’s become one of my go-to spots, especially for watching football games. The atmosphere is always lively, and the big screens make it the perfect place to catch all the action while enjoying some great food and drinks.

One of my favorites is the Snozzberry Sour—it’s refreshing, crisp, and the perfect balance of tartness.

But let’s talk about their pretzels—they are absolutely amazing. Fresh, warm, and perfectly baked, these pretzels are the real deal. They come with a side of mustard and beer cheese, both of which are equally fantastic.

Beyond the great food and drink, the service is always friendly and attentive. It’s a place where you can truly relax, enjoy a cold drink, and catch up with friends or fellow football fans.

I came on a Friday night. It was super busy. Great beer. The table and floor layout make it difficult to get around. A lot of choke points get created making a single lane for both directions of traffic.
