Not bad at all!!! On the contrary this place has a great atmosphere with great service and amazing food. My wife and I were debating whether to go to Arthur ave or stay local for some good food. We have this place a shot and we are glad we did. Marco, our server, was fantastic in describing us the best options for dinner. He even gave us the option of sitting next to the fire place. Now that’s what the hospitality business is about. Not to mentioned the owner of the place was very cordial and welcoming. We had a Brussels sprout salad which in my critical opinion I’ve had better so I’ll give it an 8/10. But we devoured the Lamb shank and the Veal chop down to the bone. That was phenomenal. Over all the experience was great and that makes up for anything I might have dislike. If you are a local or just passing by come try this place out, your won’t regret it.

Hidden Gem in Stratfords Oronoque area! Right off the Merrit Parkway, the first time I came here was for the Veal Ossubuco. I was told it was amazing and they did not disappoint. And decently priced.

This time we’re here for New Year’s Eve dinner and our picks were perfect. Definitely a must try.

Always delicious food, wonderful service, and love to enjoy the meal in the greenhouse.
However, I was very disappointed that a $4.95 charge for a “teabag” of Stash tea appeared on my bill. Mighty Leaf would have been more tolerable. It was served in a mug….for that price a teapot should have lol been on the table.
The quality of tea does not fit with the quality of the food and service of the restaurant.

What We Ordered:

Dry-aged ribeye with sautéed mushrooms and zucchini (special)

Braised pork chop with candied Brussels sprouts

My Experience:
My son and I stopped into Biagio Osteria last night at the end of a long road trip day. It was one of the few places still open in the area, and when we walked in, I was a little concerned we were underdressed, the place looked a bit upscale for our travel clothes.

Thankfully, the staff could not have been more welcoming. They were incredibly friendly, and the service was absolutely top notch.

My son ordered the dry-aged ribeye special, which came with sautéed mushrooms and zucchini. He said it was amazing. I had the braised pork chop with candied Brussels sprouts, and it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor.

Highlight: Outstanding food and exceptional hospitality, even at the end of a long day.

Would I Return? Without a doubt, this is a hidden gem and worth the visit if you’re in the area.

I’ve been going to Biagio’s for about 18 years now. I hadn’t been in quite a while and this visit I saw how it declined and I am so sorry to see it happen. We were there on Christmas Eve and they were doing a good amount of business. The food was just as I remembered it (good) – even some of the same menu items as years ago. My problem is with the ambiance (or rather lack of) and the host. No one was even trying. No one wished us a Merry Christmas, how was everything? So happy you could join us, etc. It was more about turn-over – getting them in, fed, then out. It wasn’t cozy and there wasn’t a warm vibe anywhere. It’s grunging and grimy and a deep clean and some interior design could fix it quickly. I just feel that they stopped trying and I did not appreciate it.

Must I say, I have heard plenty about this place and their reputation. Long story short, they exceeded my expectations. That staff are some of the kindest and most polite people you will meet, always ready to provide drinks or anything needed. Now the food, it was absolutely AMAZING. Very authentic food and the food was plentiful with flavor. My Fiancé and I will most definitely come back with no questions asked . (Definitely my top 3 in the state of CT for Italian food)

The atmosphere is actually visually really cute, the problem lies with where this restaurant is.
Saturday we were just getting to our hotel after parents weekend at our son’s college. We were starving but didnt want fast food. We found the restaurant on Google and when we got there I almost got right back in the car.
The stench was overwhelming. My husband thought lets just get inside maybe it’ll be better? We wanted to-go service and the staff pointed us towards the bar. The smell was better and the food smelled lovely, so we sat and contemplated getting a bottle of wine and relaxing. Then one of the servers opened the back door, which is just off of the bar area.
The smell immediately ruined my appetite. We ordered a chicken parm for my husband to go and while we were waiting we asked what the smell was about.
She told us there’s a stream behind the restaurant and thats where the smell is coming from. And that she should probably close the door.

20 minutes later we took our very delicious food to go and the back door was still open stinking up the place. You should go cause the food was great but if your nose is sensitive take your food to go.

Loved it. Can’t say enough about it. Presentation was excellent. Service was impeccable. The meal was to die for. We ordered three different dishes and we all agreed they were delicious and we definitely would return.
Well I did return with my daughter and her husband. And what could I say we were just as wowed as the first time.
Would highly recommend you try them.

Amazing staff and food. Every table is well spaced out and all staff follows proper Covid protocols. Drinks were great and not too expensive. They offer a diverse menu and a specials menu as well. I think we asked for five baskets of bread when we ate there. I got the lamb chop and the meat was so juicy and tender and fell right off the bone. I keep thinking about the sauce that was on the plate with it. My friend got the ossobucco and the meat just pulled apart so smoothly. Needless to say it was a good choice for a girls night dinner. We dropped about $60 each and it was super affordable and worth it for what we got. Two drinks, shared an app, all got our own entree and finished with dessert. Well priced meals and well made food. Can’t wait to go back again and try something else!
