Great sliders in this hole in the wall! Fast and friendly service. Great selection of craft beers. As you would expect, can be difficult to hold conversations since it’s a bar. Definitely worth a trip to C-Grove to eat here.

Tiny, tiny place. We went for dinner while camping at Council Grove Lake based on 4.8 star rating. Quick service. Good burger, crispy fries but ordinary. No draft beer, only cans and bottles, but a decent selection. Mountain oysters were okay – sliced pretty thin with a thick crispy coating. Couldn’t really taste the mountain oysters themselves.

When I go to visit my son at Kansas State, I stay at the Cottage House in Council Grove. BG’s is right next door to the motel/hotel and I stop in each night for a drink and oftentimes a bite to eat. Max does a fantastic job of running the place and Karina does a terrific job behind the bar. Prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. On Thursdays and Fridays they have live entertainment. Best of all, Max and his staff make you feel at home whether you are a town regular or a traveler stopping in town for a visit.
