In town for a long weekend we decided to try B&G Oysters. The lobster roll and the oysters were delicious and fresh! It is a comfy open kitchen concept and we had no trouble getting a table. It was the perfect spot for lunch!

We were in town for a short stay and decided to try out B&G Oysters as we were craving some fresh seafood. It did not disappoint! The oysters, mussels, and calamari were all delicious and at *peak* freshness. In fact, we had mussels again at a different restaurant later in the day and immediately noticed the difference in quality. The service was incredible as well. It was a hot day so we sat inside, but their back patio is perfect for an intimate meal. I highly recommend stopping in at B&G when you’re in the mood for fresh seafood!

It was my first true seafood adventure, and I definitely picked the right spot! Cozy, upscale, comfy, and friendly vibes abound!! I tried clam chowder for the first time, and the flavors were exceptional. Truly, so so good. My waitress, April, was fully invested in my seafood journey and gave me fresh oyster to try. My mind was blown. I have clearly been missing out. Next came the lobster arancini – I wanted a slow intro to lobster – and YUM!! Paired with a glass of crisp bubble, these dishes were more than I bargined for in the best way possible. I treated myself to the lemon tart with raspberry, and I died of tart happiness. 20/10 Would bring my humans here.

Good! What is there to say? If you are looking for a good place to have dinner in the area, B&G Oysters is the place to be. Open kitchen concept to create a bigger space ambiance with slightly limited indoor seating.

Surprisingly there were quite a number of tables with kids too! The calamari — you can nevee go wrong with fried food, their raw oysters are amazing! Island Creek will always be the best tasting for me. The cocktail sauce they make is delicious with the oysters as well.

For entree the scallops were perfectly cooked, flavors and texture blended well in the dish. As for dessert, banana pudding is banana pudding— maybe also try the chocolate mousse and let me know!

Drinks we had the Bee’s Knees cocktail and 1 glass of 2022 Rose. It went perfectly with the apps. The only thing is that we were always asked if we’re done with our plate. Anyway—

Til next time! Maybe brunch!

Possibly the best tasting raw oyster i’ve ever had! I did not try too many, but I wish i had more of raw rather than fried.

The soft shell crab BLT was a hefty meal on its own as well! fries were well cooked and the sandwich was perfectly balanced

It was such a nice place for a dinner. It’s located in half a basement, so there isn’t much view, and it also gets quite noisy once busy due to the low ceilings, but it’s still nice. All the ratings put their chowder very high, and I agree with that. For the main, we shared seafood bake, which turned to be more of a “half a lobster with clams”, not what we expected, but we still enjoyed it very much.

What they charge for a lobster roll here is criminal for what was provided. A soggy bun with too much butter and rubbery scraps of lobster (no claw or tail meat to be seen). Fries were a bit soggy despite having come out of the fryer just moments before.

Chowder was ok and the salad was the bare minimum you’d expect to get for $19. Oysters were fresh and decently presented.

Overall a bit of a tourist trap, not sure how it makes it on the list of classic places to eat in Boston.

As a seafood lover, B&G oysters has always been on top of my list for brunch. Recent got the chance to visit, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired.
The place initially seemed welcoming with its open kitchen concept, and it was interesting watch the staffs shuck our oysters. Among the four types of oysters we got, Wellfleet had the best texture and a mildly sweet flavor that we enjoyed. The umami oysters were also one of our favorites with their unique aftertaste. The shrimps and the clams were good, but the clams seemed too small for their price.
The two appetizer dishes were the standouts. The fried oysters went nicely with the tartare sauce, and the shredded lettuce helped tone down the greasiness. The calamaris were also super crispy and the spicy aioli sauce was one of the best I’ve had.
Our disappointment with the meal started with the entrées. The lobster roll was mediocre at best. With the lobster meat cut into tiny pieces, it was difficult to enjoy its flavor. The fries and the buttered toast were okay, but it certainly wasn’t worth its price.
Overall, great place for fried seafood and fresh oysters, but beware of the overpriced and disappointing entrées.

Everything except the chowder was fantastic. The lobster roll is definitely well worth it. Comes with a good helping of fries, coleslaw and pickles. The deep fried soft shell crab was also good. The oysters, just out of this world good. The chowder could use some improvements, it’s a bit watery for my taste. I prefer to have it much thicker and some more unf to the flavor.

Seafood places really know how to gouge you by not listing prices on the menu. “Market price” is often an unpleasant surprise when you receive the bill, as my dozen raw oysters and lobster BLT totaled $107 after tax and tip. That said, the quality was outstanding, and there was a lot of lobster on that BLT. The outdoor seating setup was quite nice on a side street with minimal traffic.
