delicious vegan sushi! i have been here on a previous trip to nyc and was keen to return. we booked online however we realised the booking system is for the other location, so be aware of this if you are using resy. they still fit us in and service was pretty good. food was great and prices are reasonable – the spicy salmon was a standout! definitely recommend this place!

A must visit vegan restaurant!! I come to Beyond Sushi every time I’m in town and the experience is top tier. Service is excellent. Food comes out quickly and looks and tastes delicious. Finally ordered an appropriate amount of food to have room for dessert and the ube cheesecake is to die for. I want to order seven more pieces as I’m typing this review.

Most likely the best spot in NYC for vegan sushi, full stop. As with all of the City Roots Hospitality Group, the meat (well, fish in this case) alternatives are mind-blowing and the flavour combos are well thought out and delicious. We went for:

-Philadelphia Maki
-Salmon Avocado
-Tuna Nigiri

And we were impressed by the presentation and taste of everything (although the Philadelphia roll was a “wow” level highlight).

Service was prompt and very friendly. We will absolutely be coming back if we visit NYC again to try more of the menu!

We stopped by Beyond Sushi on 56th St. at 9:27 PM, just three minutes before closing (we know, the worst time for the staff!), but the lady at the cashier was still incredibly kind and welcoming.

We tried the Ginger Beef and Shiitake Truffle Dumplings , the Rainbow and Philadelphia Rolls, and the Tuna Nigiri . Everything was delicious, but I’ll definitely be coming back especially for the Ginger Beef Dumplings and the Philadelphia Rolls — they were outstanding!

I absolutely recommend this restaurant for both their service and their food. Thank you so much to the team for such a great experience!

Pd. Im coming back for desserts!!

$28 for them to deliberately put food outside of the container. Yes, the “egg” was literally sitting on top of the container. Yes, as you can see in the photo the yellow part went everywhere. I’ve literally never gotten food to go where someone did this. Considering this is the part of the ramen I was most excited about, what a waste of $28. Obviously I would not recommend ordering food from here.

Update: they show the Shiitake Truffle Dumplings as having 6 dumplings but they only gave me 5, so don’t trust what’s pictured on the menu either.

Did not meet expectations. The sushi felt like pre-made store-bought quality — if that’s what I wanted, I could have gone to Whole Foods. The food arrived just three minutes after ordering, which raised concerns about freshness. For the premium price, this felt misleading and left me feeling a bit ripped off. We also ordered a miso soup, and the bowl was only half full.

Really great sushi! The Oshizuki Spicy Salmon was my favorite, the flavors were so delicious. The dumplings were also SO GOOD and seasoned very well.

We brought some family who are not vegan and they were really impressed and thought everything was super fantastic! Highly recommend!

Beyond Sushi its a Gem. It is one of the best, if not THE best vegan sushi spots out there. From the appetizer all the way down to the dessert was filled with delicious dishes. Our server, David, from the moment we were seated, was friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional. He knew the menu inside and out, offered great recommendations, and made sure our night was one to remember. I

It’s rare to have service this smooth and genuine. We’ll definitely be coming back and asking for them again!

Ps: Get the Plum sake, Hakutsuru. You won’t be disappointed

Everything we ordered was top notch delicious and worth the cost. Presentation was outstanding, the chef deserves props. Everything was 100% vegan, but handcrafted and flavored convincingly like the real thing. Somehow the cheesecake was even better than real cheesecake! I think the menu should not say things like chicken or salmon if that’s not what it is, though. The front of house staff seems inexperienced, I hope that will improve. Also, tipping is an archaic system and promotes inequality; it should be discouraged. Overall, very happy.
