Coming from an east coast perspective this may be an unimportant opinion to most. But for the price I paid for my dinner I would have expected higher quantity and quality of food. Especially with a sign in the dining room that reads you will pay more but the quality is worth it. I got the Betty combo I believe. $48 with a tea. 1 piece of fish very skinny and 2 scallops and 2 pieces of shrimp with “chips”. The fish was a slim piece. The batter is semi flavorless but I use malt vinegar on everything anyway. Batter was kinda like thinner version of fair corn dog batter. Scallops were good but kind of small and the batter was again lackluster. The shrimp was fair as well. Coleslaw is not the sweet variety which I prefer but was good. The “chips” tasted like frozen fries from Walmart. Would have loved to see fresh cut round chips. The service here however is really good. The server was very friendly and efficient. Guy in the kitchen was attentive and overall they seem like a good place to be. The price point makes it hard to return, and yet I know how expensive running a business in California is so this may be a no kids kinda dinner.

Diner on the outskirts of Santa Rosa. Funky down market decor. Calamari and fries were ok. Fish and chips were good with nice fresh cod but a bit under seasoned. Crab Louie had a lot of tasty salad but a bit light on crab. The dessert we had come for – Lemon Cloud Pie – was very disappointing. There was almost no lemon cream, a lot of whipped cream and the pastry base was overcooked on the sides and the base was inedible. On the whole not worth the money or journey. Not recommended.

Ginger Thai Fish Tacos…would beat Bobby Flay. Out of this world, inventive with a thin flirty avacoado slice. It was just delicious. An absolute must try.

This is a wonderful place to eat a traditional fish & chips meal!! Very tasty, perfect texture battered fish! Fries are cooked to a nice crisp outer as well! The sauces are delicious! Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie and of course the staple Lemon Cream Pie are all fantastic!! I grew up on going out for F&C with my grandmother and this place hits all levels of a great treat! Along with super friendly & welcoming staff!

The fish, shrimp rings and chips are fantastic. I asked for well-done fries and that’s the way they came(extra crispy). Rick/Rich our server, host, chef, was delightfully direct and humorous. We splurged and had blackberry pie. The crust was tender and flaky like Grandma’s Crisco recipe,(nothing like store-bought). Simple and cozy atmosphere, can’t wait to go back.

Extremely friendly service. Ordered the 2 piece Fish & Chips for approx $24 and an Iced Tea. The fried cod is fantastic, and of good size. They load you up with fries. Tartar sauce tasted house made and was also quite good with the addition of some fresh lemon.
The server mentioned their fish tacos are the most popular items. I look forward to going back and trying them.

I have visited family-owned Betty’s several times over the past few months. Each visit has left me impressed with the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the establishment, and the diverse menu options. The service I’ve sampled numerous dishes from the menu and would happily order any of them again. Today, I indulged in their fish and chips a true highlight. The fish was exceptionally juicy and flaky beneath a delicately crisp, nearly paper-thin batter, paired with perfectly seasoned, crispy fries. I highly recommend stopping by for a satisfying meal at Betty’s.
