Unfortunately, we have given up on this restaurant. We really wanted it to succeed because we need a local restaurant like this in the area. The food is just not good. The last time we went, we ordered chicken tacos and a burrito, and they drowned the chicken in spicy chili oil. It was so spicy that we could not even finish. Most everything else we have ordered has been mediocre at best. For example, the cheese was not melted in the cheese enchilada. The tamale was dried out and tough. The beans and rice have no flavor. The tacos are pretty much just meat. The burritos are gigantic, but they are just not very tasty. Anything you order might be ridiculously spicy with no warning. If people want spicy, they can add it themselves. The menu is ridiculously complex. They should cut it down to 1/3 of its current size and focus on quality over selection. Speaking of focus, they should do some focus groups on the food to try to figure out how to make it better. I hate to say it, but Taco Bell beats this place easily, and there is no comparison to Lone Star at all.

I really hate to leave a bad review, but Beto’s in Cottonwood Heights has earned it this lunchtime. After two excellent burrito purchases in past weeks, today we ordered a fish taco and shredded beef taco for take out variety. Both were very poor quality – basically inedible and rather expensive. The fish was a charred fish stick and the beef so overcooked it was crispy. I won’t tax your imagination further, but suffice it to say that there are many better options nearby. Although new to Cottonwood Heights, Beto’s has been around long enough to not have these QC problems. Sorry guys.

Hardshell and street tacos are great. Burritos are huge. Dining room isn’t fancy, but luckily that doesn’t affect the food. The staff will serve you food, but won’t give you the fake smiley treatment. Again, this won’t affect the food. Prices are a little steep, but I’m glad they’ve moved into the neighborhood. Overall, it is a solid place to grab a bite and I’ll continue going back.

Not really operating. No one answers when parked at the drive through menu speaker place. Tried to go inside whereupon a young kid poked his head out the drive through and says “ drive through only.” Got bank in my car. Tried the drive through again. Now the guy never responded, again. Waited at the window also. No response. Useless. Phoned multiple times. No answer. Clueless useless waste of a pseudo restaurant. Sad. Doors say when the place is supposed to be open but no mention of it being “drive through only.” But even their drive through isn’t operating tho some useless feckless clueless employee is apparently hiding inside.

First trip was very successful! I had a super combo breakfast burrito which is pretty safe, my dad got an al pastor torts, which can be hit or miss, luckily this one was a hit!

The gals at the counter were nice. But I hate it when restaurants smell like cleaning supplies. At least put some garlic and butter on the stove to make it smell like food not a bathroom. Maybe some decorations would be good so it doesn’t look like the old Arctic Circle. My husband said the chicken burrito was good. The carne asada was leathery and tasteless… ended up in the dog dish. I’ll give it a try again because I want to support our local businesses… we’ll see if the change. Fingers crossed.

I’ve visited multiple times as I work right next door and they couldn’t have put a worse establishment at this location, they forget my drink every time (they only have 12oz canned sodas) food is decent (5/10 on a good day) but somehow Is luke-warm after waiting 10+ minutes, are the employees not getting paid? I feel like I’m getting haggled for tips by getting handed the receipt and pen expecting a tip. You are better off going to del taco.
