New to the area: What are all these teriyaki restaurants ? : r/beaverton

The one we really like is Tokyo Grill on Beaverton-Hillsdale. We get takeout there more often than any place else. Love 808 Grinds for Hawaiian too.

Folks, I am sorry to tell you. This is not the place to eat. I tried the noodle whatever it was with shrimp and my wife had something else with lots of Rice and we both could not stand the flavor of the food we were eating. I smelled sour ammonia like whiffs coming off of the shrimp and the tables were dirty. The food was not good. I’m sure they’re very nice people. But they sure don’t care. They gave us a lot of food. I must admit if you want to get a lot of food. Fran’s a pretty fair price. That’s the place to go, but the quality of the food concerns. Me and your health concerns me. If you eat there i don’t know what the kitchen looks like. I just know we’ve neither one of us. Ate our food and we left a full plate sitting there. About $30 worth of food.
Sorry, best teriyaki, but you’re not the best teriyaki. You needed to change your name.

The interior was more spacious than I expected, and the food was reasonably priced with generous portions. We had the beef teriyaki and bibimbap. The taste was also better than I anticipated, and it made me want to try other dishes as well.

Happy Combo: The sauce was too strong, making everything taste the same.
Udon Noodle Soup: The soup was light and not too rich, which made it very enjoyable.

I got the chicken and beef teriyaki combo plate for $17. I was a bit pessimistic, but I got a lot of food. The food was good but not great. The place was clean and the service was good.

Best Teriyaki is not my vote for best teriyaki. The teriyaki was bland, and I had hopes for the teriyaki sauce itself, but even it was lack luster. I would sadly recommend panda express’s teriyaki over this.

We ordered the chicken teriyaki, (How can you not with a name that has “best teriyaki” in the title?) a side of orange chicken, and some gyoza. Good amount of food for your money, the rice is made well, and it was ready pretty soon after we ordered. The chicken is cooked well and tastes fine. However, the teriyaki sauce didn’t really taste like teriyaki, and the entree just tasted like chicken with vegetables and rice. The only thing teriyaki about it was the name. The orange chicken was similar; it just tasted like fried balls of chicken. Overall, not a huge amount of flavor in any of the things we ordered. Don’t bee-lieve the name.

First time try.

It was a good experience. We tried the spicy pork, teriyaki beef and chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Portions are fair. Sweet and sour chicken was fried very crispy and can really hold up to the sauce, which was a very nice surprise. Beef and pork sliced then and teriyaki chicken gets a nice char on it. Rice and veggies could use some salt, but i understand serving alongside something with teriyaki sauce could be overwhelmingly salty for someone. The Man taking orders at the counter was great. He was friendly and helpful with the decision process for our meals. He was very engaging with each and every customer which was nice to see. Restaurant itself was a clean place with lots of tables. Sauces and sodas are self serve which is always a plus. I would definitely be back to try some of the other menu items.

Been coming Best Teriyaki for decades, back when they had several locations and when it used to be one of those must have cravings. Pretty sure ownership or management has changed hands at least once or twice? Everything used to be so good, rib and chicken combo and chicken rice bowl have always been my goto meals. Sadly at some point in time (maybe 2000-2019 -ish) the recipes changed, and quality seemed to had dropped off as their other locations also closed. Beaverton is all that’s left. The decor hasn’t changed much inside but the tasty flavor is back.

Seem who ever is running the ship now actually does care about serving food that actually tastes good. Even the cooked cabbage is tasty with it’s mild blend of spices and crunch, perfect mix on a combo plate or rice bowl. I still order the chicken rice ‘bowl’ a couple times a month … seems the traditional bowl shape has been replaced with a rectangle tray on togo orders, which is fine as the volume of food seems about the same, of course inflation has hit the rice bowl at $10.75. The thick warm sweet teriyaki sauce here is absolutely delicious and something special (can’t find anything close a the grocery stores), glad they keep big bottles on the counter as I always pour some extra teriyaki sauce over my meal along with a bit of hot Rooster sauce (The original Sriracha) which despite many knock-off brands still has the best tasting flavor profile. Only thing missing here is some traditional Hawaiian macaroni salad, as Best Teriyaki is pretty close to having a Hawaiian menu and style, easily comparable to 808 Grind and Roxy. Rice here is always cooked perfectly, chicken is moist with a nice bit of char, the side cabbage is a tasty compliment and meals are a decent portion size. Definitely back to being a must have craving at least a couple times a month. Delicious.

I haven’t been here in many years. I remember it was good, so, since I was close by and hungry, I decided to get some food there.

Big mistake. Spend $20 on food that was reheated in a microwave. Come on people, you own a brick and mortar restaurant, the last thing you want to do is use a microwave to reheat food.

I asked for a partial refund on the side of fried rice, that was clearly reheated in a microwave, the cashier so non chalan plainly said so. The fried rice was taste less and hard.

Well, not coming back here again. Sad to see long stablished restaurants that survived the pandemic, not appreciating patrons returning to their business.

This place has a lot reviews just like mine. I should had check them before stepping in.

To be honest, o never give bad reviews, but this place was not good at all. I would recommend finding another place to grab some food. Teriyaki beef bowl, not good.
Egg roll mediocre.
