I was lured in by their combo/lunch plate pricing and options. Went for the Roast Duck BBQ Plate $11.50 and upgraded from rice to Chow Fun for an extra $0.50. After tax and tip everything was just under $15.
They are definitely not shy with their portions here! When they handed me my food it definitely felt like well over 1.5lbs of food. This could easily be 2-2.5 meals for an average person!
I opted in for Chow Fun because I love wide & chewy rice noodles! The flavor was a bit dull and the noodles were kind of starchy so they must have been sitting out for awhile. The cabbage was exactly what it looked like, and honestly didn’t have much flavor.
I was really hoping the roast duck would make up for the noodles and cabbage. But to my surprise, the duck was almost ice cold and the skin wasn’t crispy at all! It felt like the duck was pulled straight out of the fridge or even left on the counter.
Had I had the time to dine in, I would have mentioned it to them, but I was just on my lunch break so I had to grab my food and run.
The inside of the restaurant is what you would expect from a mom & pop Chinese takeout restaurant. Not exactly super tidy, but it was presentable and still had seating for those who could dine in.
The workers were friendly and quick to serve you. I would like to revisit this location to see if their other food items are better.
Covid Summer 2020 I had a two item dish dinner – Fried beef rice that was tasteless and hard like eating sand, Bean Chicken cold greasy and not a bit of flavor = The BBQ should have been the highlight but it is the worse – cold dry hard to chew bland pork – I asked for some sweet and sour pack and that added the flavor.
Price for this cold plate of food – 9.00 – yes as you see in the pics the food glows with color and looks great . But trust me its cold and has no flavor. At 4pm they have a happy hours for 4.99 – this means you are welcome to some hot pans of Asian food that has been sitting out all day for a bit of a discount – Avoid this one — try the Noodles next door or Hawaiian fast food next door —
There is no napkins in the dispensers, the salt and pepper shakers haven’t been clean since they bought them.
I probably shouldn’t have given her a tip.
The food was ok, though.
Update 4/12/23: raw chicken. Food poisoning
I do like their roast duck and chicken.
I’ve also had their Chinese tamales in bamboo leaves. Good tasting tamales but I guess they always are only left with red bean. Do the peanut and green bean ones always sell out so fasf?
