Stopped by on my lunch break for a quick and easy meal!

I was lured in by their combo/lunch plate pricing and options. Went for the Roast Duck BBQ Plate $11.50 and upgraded from rice to Chow Fun for an extra $0.50. After tax and tip everything was just under $15.

They are definitely not shy with their portions here! When they handed me my food it definitely felt like well over 1.5lbs of food. This could easily be 2-2.5 meals for an average person!

I opted in for Chow Fun because I love wide & chewy rice noodles! The flavor was a bit dull and the noodles were kind of starchy so they must have been sitting out for awhile. The cabbage was exactly what it looked like, and honestly didn’t have much flavor.

I was really hoping the roast duck would make up for the noodles and cabbage. But to my surprise, the duck was almost ice cold and the skin wasn’t crispy at all! It felt like the duck was pulled straight out of the fridge or even left on the counter.

Had I had the time to dine in, I would have mentioned it to them, but I was just on my lunch break so I had to grab my food and run.

The inside of the restaurant is what you would expect from a mom & pop Chinese takeout restaurant. Not exactly super tidy, but it was presentable and still had seating for those who could dine in.

The workers were friendly and quick to serve you. I would like to revisit this location to see if their other food items are better.

I have visited this hot plate place over the years and always forget why I don’t come here much = I do like the BBQ Pork and Duck – and that is all. each of their buckets of food is very bland and taste less –
Covid Summer 2020 I had a two item dish dinner – Fried beef rice that was tasteless and hard like eating sand, Bean Chicken cold greasy and not a bit of flavor = The BBQ should have been the highlight but it is the worse – cold dry hard to chew bland pork – I asked for some sweet and sour pack and that added the flavor.
Price for this cold plate of food – 9.00 – yes as you see in the pics the food glows with color and looks great . But trust me its cold and has no flavor. At 4pm they have a happy hours for 4.99 – this means you are welcome to some hot pans of Asian food that has been sitting out all day for a bit of a discount – Avoid this one — try the Noodles next door or Hawaiian fast food next door —

The food there is ok from the hot plates but the butcher can be shady. One time i ordered a whole duck and the duck was so skinny with barely any meat on it just skin and bones. I ordered bbq meat with rice combos a few times from there. Watch out for that. Instead of getting some meat from the rack and chopping it, the butcher will just scoop some leftover meat scraps from the side of his chopping board onto your plate. Not sure how sanitary is that just sitting there without a heat lamp either. Im talking about mostly duck neck and leftover fatty pieces or if you order the roast pork combo, its obviously just smaller scrap leftovers with no crispy skin. I confronted him one time after watching him in the act and told him i dont want the leftover scraps and want some meat off the rack. He told me I have to buy by the pound for that. I stopped going back.

The fried rice was dry, the veggies and fried fish had no flavor, and the orange chicken … oh man the orange chicken. That … thing … tasted like it can make you very sick. It is inedible! It all went in the trash. If you are the owner of this establishment, please routinely check the quality of your food.

Not to clean. No money and hungry? go there. I seen a customer drop a box with 6 dumplings, two of them fell on the ground the cashier just place them back into the box and place the box again for sale
There is no napkins in the dispensers, the salt and pepper shakers haven’t been clean since they bought them.

The clerk’s response to my question about size and cost? A nod towards the sample trays and price list .
I probably shouldn’t have given her a tip.
The food was ok, though.

Try the deep fried fish it is great order To Go the Large container of deep fried fish is very tasty and reasonable price for today’s standards. You can eat it there but I recommend take it out and eat somewhere else

Was craving sesame balls and the woman at the register said they were out but they would make some. Came back a little bit later and had some of the best and cheapest sesame balls (paid $3 for 9!!!) I’ve had in a while. Your wallet and stomach will thank you

I don’t know much about other Chinese take out places like this one, but my dad likes it for the bargains and they also give him more at the end of the day. It’s take out food so it’s expected expected be greasy, but it’s delicious. I don’t eat this much but my dad loves it and I think it’s good for those gatherings where you need something quick.

I do like their roast duck and chicken.

I’ve also had their Chinese tamales in bamboo leaves. Good tasting tamales but I guess they always are only left with red bean. Do the peanut and green bean ones always sell out so fasf?
