5 Stars – Great Food, Friendly Service & Perfect Stop
Bert’s Hot Dog Shop is everything you want in a classic hot dog spot. The food is excellent, the service is quick, and the staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. The chili dogs are huge, foot-long, loaded with flavor, and absolutely delicious. I also tried a chocolate milkshake, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had, rich, creamy, and made just right.
The location is very convenient, with plenty of parking and several picnic tables outside so you can relax and enjoy your meal on the spot. Our food came out fast and fresh, and everything tasted just like it should, comforting, satisfying, and worth every bite.
Highly recommended if you’re in the area. We were very glad we stopped by, and I’ll definitely be returning the next chance I get. Everything about the visit was spot on, 5 stars all the way!

The food is amazing! The service is great! I just wish it wasn’t right on the road but you’d miss the amazing smells if it was too far back! The double cheeseburger is better than any fastfood place!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for years and we finally made it after a shopping trip to Kaufmanns. I got a chili cheese dog with onions and shared a large onion ring with the hubby. Everything was so delicious. We will definitely be back.

Structure needs a paint job. No ice cream for the milkshake request. Boiled hot dogs, not fried. If crispy is requested, a hot dog is dropped in a deep fryer! potatoe fries are from a box. Breakfast is supposedly served at any time of business opening. Roadside vehicle noise is apparent. Reported to have been opened in 1947?

Hands down best hotdogs. Ordered a chilicheesedog today for the first time and I was not disappointed. Second visit back, 11/5/25, tried the hot pepper jack burger. It is amazing!! Very deliciously made.

Our HS team went back to Top Gun this past January. This time my son road back with me and he enjoyed the dogs and fries. It was his las time going to top gun and I wanted to make sure we got to stop by together. I know it’s just a hot dog shack, but time spent with my son on these trips is time well spent.
So last year, while leaving the top gun tournament in Ohio, I passed this place and didn’t stop. Our team went back to the wrestling tournament again this year. On the way home on 1/13 I stopped by. As always these little spots never let you down. I didn’t know all the hotdogs were foot longs lol. I ordered two chilidogs thinking they were regular size. The dogs and fries were on point. It was definitely worth the 1 year wait lol. The staff was very friendly.

This is a very popular spot with hotdogs, burgers, and sides. I haven’t eaten here, but our kids love it. It is very conveniently located as well. Half the town will be out here on nice days.

The chili dogs are so good I travel 3 hours one way to get 10. The best chili dog in America. I started eating here in 1969. Same hot dog and bun suppliers since then. I thank the “Bert” family for keeping this gem, my kids also thank you. I met granddaughter “Bert” three years ago at Steeler game in Cleveland, great people.
