Service was fantastic, servers were very accommodating for special requests and cheerfully replaced a swordfish meal that was severely overcooked. There were inconsistent portion sizes on exact same meals. Based on our experience this time and a previous experience some of our party had eating overcooked prime rib there, they’re still working out kinks with kitchen staff. I’ll give them the benefit of a doubt since their other location gets really good reviews. The cost for 9 people’s meals, drinks, tax and tip was about $300. I’ll give them some time to work out issues and try again then update this review.

When we entered and stood by the hostess stand, we were greeted promptly. There were only a few people in the restaurant. We got to our table and our server eventually got to us. She took our drink order and was back kinda quickly. She then took our order. We ordered an appetizer ( chicken wings ) before our meal. We got their free bread, which was horrible. After about 40 minutes, my wife got up to ask an employee where is our appetizer, she told my wife that she will check. About another 10 minutes she came out with our server with our appetizer and our main course. I told them both that an appetizer should have came out before our meal and I told them that they can keep it now because we have our main course. The steak was ok but not for $42.00. I had to ask for a steak knife. Ugh. The bake potatoes were hard in the center. They have been open since June and you would think by now they would have worked out the kinks. Probably won’t go back.

I attended the opening night dinner for the Show Low Film Festival and I never knew this place was here! It’s off the main drag, but filled with atmosphere and very friendly, attentive staff. The food was really good too! Check them out!

I took 10 of our close friends to the restaurant on Saturday night after making a reservation earlier in the day and then a follow up with a phone call to confirm the reservation. Upon arriving they didn’t have the reservation and the table had to be set up while we waited. The evening started off with me ordering my standard drink of Tito’s Vodka and Club Soda and they had no Tito’s which is a staple in any bar. This started of my evening not very well.
I ordered prime rib medium-rare and requested very little fat and after an hour we finally received our food. After we received our first drinks we never saw the waitress again until our food came about an hour later. The dinner included the salad bar but the lettuce bowl was empty along with many of the entrees for the salad which they did finally refill after 20 minutes.

The food finally arrived and what I got was a piece of meat full of fat that the first bite I chewed on for 2 minutes and had to spit it out because you couldn’t chew it any more Second bit was the same. I had asked for butter for my baked potato and after I placed it on top and after 10 minutes the butter wasn’t melted because the potato was cold. Long story short, I told the girl I couldn’t and wouldn’t eat the dinner which they took away. Others in our group also had marginal dinners.

The bright side for the night was we were with great friends and the music was good!
The restaurant was not busy at all with less that 25 people in total excluding us.
I have been through this before at this restaurant under different ownership and promised I would never return and I am sorry I did this time too…. The service was terrible and slow, my food was ridiculously bad (I would be embarrassed to serve that to anyone and call it Prime Rib) , The salad bar was not stocked and The bar was not stocked with standard alcohol in my opinion.

I asked for Tracy or her husband the owners and neither were there…. We drove 25 minutes to get there for a nice dinner and this place failed us again. It is now off of our list of places to recommend on the mountain.

Scallops scampi on fettuccini dinner for $24? Willing to try it! What I got was a small bowl of spaghetti with 8 medium scallops. No sides, no parmesan on the table or offered by server. No explanations when I questioned where the fettuccini was either… $1 worth of cheap spaghetti in butter & oil with 8 medium sized scallops. Pass. Hubby got a steak with 2 sides. Large plate shows up with a steak and a scoop of mashed potatoes. Rest of the plate was nekked. Presentation is not their forte. $18 for a salad bar with nothing special to it — also very disappointing. The only reason I give the food 3 of 5 stars is because hubby liked his potatoes and the steak was okay too.

We had a sweet server and the live music was nice but honestly one of the worst meals i have had in a long time. Ordered the brisket which was so tough and flavorless. Meals were expensive considering they only come with one side. They dont serve bread anymore with meals. Completely disappointed and will not go back.

We order the smoked brisket. It was excellent. The live music was classic country. Friendly and helpful service.

Love their salad bar and enjoyed their smoked brisket and their fried fish was really good. The staff is absolutely wonderful so sweet. Love going to Berties Stockyard for dinner. They also have the cutest little store when you first enter the restaurant with beautiful vintage items to buy.

This use to be the Hungry Buffalo, but it closed down and this place just reopened in June. We love the fact it’s not on the main drag and is away from the busy area of Show Low and Pinetop. You can tell they are working out some things, but they have a great attitude about everything and appreciate feedback. My wife ordered a burger and I ordered the porterhouse steak. The burger was good, however the steak was a little less quality than I expected. The salad bar had lots of options. Jim met us at the door and promptly sat us and got us our drinks. Vicki was our server and was great. Shanna also greeted us at our table. Brett made an incredible apple cobbler pie. The atmosphere was great and everyone made us feel welcome. I hope everything works out for them and we’ll be back!
