Since 1933 the Bernardi family has been serving Italian & American cuisine. Famous for Mona’s northern Italian Tortellini and spaghetti people travel from all over the state for great food, and friendly service. Mike Bernardi’s son and daughter have joined the family business, Tony in 1988 and Stephanie in 1996, bringing it to the third generation. After working the family business, they had thought it was time to expand out their great service and quality foods. Bernardi’s opened in Washington, IL in 2001, Bernardi’s II in Pontiac, IL in 2005, and the latest location is Bernardi’s North, opened in 2008 at Lake of the Woods Plaza in Dunlap, IL. I recommend Bernardi’s to anyone for any occasion! Authentic Italian that has fried chicken too! The atmosphere is nice! Similar to a family restaurant. Service is decent.. seems to be under staffed, but what restaurant isn’t these days! Get the pretzel for an appetizer it’s worth it! Beer is cold, draft or bottle! Lasagna is fantastic

I have been coming to this restuarant since it opened and prior to that had enjoyed Mona’s and Capponi’s in Toluca since I was a kid. The quality and consistency of the food, service, and management is unmatched in my opinion. The family atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. If you have never experienced Bernardi’s in Washington, you owe it to yourself to do so.

Food was GREAT, as always, and the service was awesome. The atmosphere was a little to be desired, as it was basically an open space with tables. Hard to carry on a conversation, without the tables around you being able to join in.

This is a wonderful restaurant and worth trying if you like Italian. It has friendly wait staff. The food is very good. Now its not a place if you dont have time. Make sure to plan to spend at least an hour here. I recommend the salmon.

Great Italian food. Weekends are busy, so reservations are recommended. Our waiter was friendly and got our drinks quickly. We had to wait a bit for the food since the restaurant was full. The pasta dishes were delicious. It has become our family tradition to have family dinners here

Great menu and great food. I recommend the Chicken Parmigiana. The meat sauce is delicious and you have an ample amount of spaghetti to compliment the chicken breast. Try the potato skins as an appetizer. They are loaded and beat anyone around. The prices are reasonable and you should have no problem finding a dish to suit your taste.

We had an amazing dinner last night at Bernardi’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary! The food was absolutely delicious—we started with the stuffed mushrooms, and then I had the baked tortellini while my husband had the fried chicken dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection. The friendly staff and accommodating owner, Stephanie, made the whole evening even more special. We had a wonderful time and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Better than expected! I have no idea why I’ve lived 15 minutes away for about 2 decades and have never tried Bernardi’s. I’m really regretting that now! The garlic pretzel appetizer was delicious with both the cheese and marinara side for dipping. But beware, it’s a stomach-filler – huge and shareable by 6-8 people! My Tuscan Parmesan was a unique take on Lasagna, breaded, deep fried, and then served with both marinara and Alfredo sauces. This is comfort food at its best. Our waitress was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Prices are between reasonable and a little high, we spent just over $100 with a tip for 4 meals (plus appetizer) and non-alcoholic drinks. Highly recommended all around, we will be back often!
