I’ve been going since this was a pop up. With scaling up, they have kept the same consistency. I appreciate that this is a clean, somewhat fusion, of bakery flavors. From the avocado toast to the noodle soup, I think the chef is trying to create something that uniquely reflects him and what the market he serves wants to eat. I enjoy this bakery and I hope to see it continue its success!

The best gluten/dairy free bakery I’ve ever been to! My husband has Celiacs (and lactose intolerance), so this place was magical for him.

For myself, with no food allergies; I can still say these were phenomenal and delicious baked goods and drinks! I’ll definitely be back!

Get the roasted coconut water to go with the sweets.

If you’re coming here looking for authentic Vietnamese pastries, this isn’t it. But if you’re open to playful, experimental desserts with Vietnamese-inspired names, you might enjoy it more. We came in with high expectations after seeing so many “must-try Vietnamese pastry” recommendations, and that’s probably what made the experience feel disappointing.

The bánh bò had the right spongy texture, but the flavor just wasn’t there, if you have been to Vietnam, you probably know. The coconut dipping sauces were especially underwhelming, one tasted oddly off, the other overly salty. The waffle lacked crispness and came out mushy, though the flavor itself was decent. The fruit tarts used fresh ingredients, but the flavors didn’t come together and tasted a bit strange overall. The canelé was good, but still fell short in texture compared to what we hoped for.

In the end, aside from the Vietnamese name, we didn’t find much here that felt authentically Vietnamese. It’s a creative dessert shop with some fun ideas, just not the place to go if you’re craving true Vietnamese pastries.

A transcendent pho adventure. Absolutely magic. Be sure to get an iced coffee and save room for a pastry or three. Gluten-free/celiac-friendly bakery and pastries do not use dairy. Celebrity chef/minority owned.

I have been a regular since their pop-up. Simply delicious. Gluten free. Seasonal treats too!! We are so lucky to have this fantastic bakery and brunch spot in Portland!! Highly recommend you stop in for a midday treat!
Added bonus: tip is included in the price and they bus the tables for you – lovely service!! Pictured is the delicious mango roll cake and a Pistachio/Pandan Jasmine Tea Latte

Unique and delicious Vietnamese baked goods! Everything was not too sweet and super flavorful. Also 100% gluten free (not that you’d ever notice). Cute vibe with indoor seating and nice sit down plating.

Really unique coffee drinks and desserts. Not overly sweet desserts, but more savory. I found the sesame flavor a bit heavy, but others loved it. Worth a try if you want something different, and well thought out.

Absolutely delicious pastries and coffee. The flavors are complex and well-balanced, not too sweet, with a huge variety of pastries available. The kẹo mè xửng huế latte is now one of my favorite flavored lattes in the city, truly an incredible afternoon pick me up.

I’d stop here again any day, and would recommend it to anyone, especially folks looking for cafe fare beyond the American/French options more readily available in the city.

The food is always so consistently good. Their textures are delightful and remixed in fun ways. Lots of things have a fun crunch on the outside and rich chew on the inside. The coconut cream is arrestingly good. In every season it feels quintessentially Berlu but remixed with seasonal flavors. So good. We bring out of towners here all the time.

Vibey spot with amazing coffee and treats! I love the peanut coffee, the pineapple dessert, the canele dessert, the pandas sponge cake, and the avocado toast! Gluten free makes it taste like the most amazing mochi 10/10. Great area next to hawthorn and Alberta as well. Anyone visiting should check these out.
If you’re exploring the area make sure to hit the vintage/ furniture markets within the 1 mile radius. Best ones I went to were urbanite, cargo, memory den, and city home. Makes for a fun walk and cool art finds!
