Stopped in for lunch because I love German food. Had the jagerschnitzel and bratwurst combo with spatzel and potatoes. Oh my god it was amazing. Ate every bite. Service was lovely. Vibe was old school cool. Wish I lived closer so I could enjoy it more often. Awesome family restaurant feeling with great food.

Been going to this place for years. Food has and is incredible. The problem has nothing to do with the food. It has to do with negativity from the top down. As my wife and I always have done we took a trip up to black mountain for my birthday. We ate my birthday dinner at Berliner Kindl. They had a Polka band playing. We ate our meal, appetizers meal dessert and beer. I cleared my ticket with my table waitress and asked if we could sit at the bar. We moved to the bar and ordered another round of beer and desserts and I pretipped the bar tender $20 bill before we even ordered to give her something for letting us listen to polka and drink. I got up to use the bathroom and the owner, standing 5 feet away from my wife told the bar tender the moment we stop ordering go ahead and kick them out. When my wife told me I was appalled. We immediately got up and left. 15 years in NC and I have gone up every September. This next September I think I’ll be going somewhere else…

The jagerschnitzel is delicious ! I really enjoyed the sauerkraut and red cabbage. They have a great selection of german biers. Best Authentic german cuisine around.

This was a proper authentic German Restaurant. If your going to or coming from Ashville, you simply must make a stop into Black Mountain for this one! The sausage is out of this world! I had the liver pate appetizer and it bought back so many child hood memories! The service was relaxed and made you feel like your a part of the family. Parking is super easy!

We were in town for a short visit and we were so glad that we stopped by this restaurant. The place was packed around 6:30pm. Service was excellent as well as the foods. We had some german beer, app, and shared an entree. My first time trying german foods and i’m not disappointed! Very delicious

The service, atmosphere, and food are all amazing and very authentic! If your in Black mountain and your in the mood for a good German experience. This is a must! They also are a package and Deli. So if you like the beer, you can take some home with you.

Very German. Similar to small town restaurants in Bavaria. I had rhamschnitzel which was excellent. The sauce was wonderful. I also had the cucumber salad and fried potato sides. I don’t get out that way often but I’m going to make it a point to get back later this spring.

Best German food I have had in awhile! I had the Jagerschnitzel with red cabbage and spatzle and my husband had veal Schnitzel with red cabbage and home fried potatoes. German music in the background and although our waitress was great she spoke no German.

We had a delicious Wienerschnitzel with red cabbage, cucumber salad, and German potato salad. The beer selection was very good, and the apple strudel and coconut cake were very tasty.
