This place you can get a quality bento. Portions little small (maybe just when I came). Veggies meh and rice was just ok but the chicken was the star.
Definitely mom and pop with the Christian quote from Samuel in Korean. Good extended menu with more than most teriyaki. Curry chicken and Bibimbap being the high point on the menu for sure. Offering kimchi and some other cold sides would really elevate the place but perhaps normal clients did not ask.
Definitely worth stopping in.

This is a good local teriyaki joint that we’ve had a few times. The menu is more expensive than the other pictures posted here by others. See my pictures for current prices as of Sept 2022.

This has been my favorite teriyaki place in Portland for over 20 years. I moved away a few years ago and when I come back to visit this is always my first stop.

I’ll admit that when I walked in I was not exactly encouraged by its style. But what Bentoz may lack it decoration it makes up for in the quality of its food. My 3 other family members had the chicken teriyaki and I had the bibimbap myself and it was really good. So good that on the first bite I literally said “Wow, this is really good” in the middle of the restaurant. Definitely recommend for anyone who happens to be staying/visiting in the area

As I write this at 50yo I have been coming here since High School(Wilson class of ‘92). The Chicken Teriyaki is my favorite in Portland. The rice is always cooked to perfection. I would give 5 stars to the “atmosphere” if they had A/C in the Summer months However since I usually order “to go”…they may have A/C now & I am just unaware

It’s fine, but $16 for basic beef with sweet sauce and rice is ridiculous. For that price you can get a delicious meal with several types of meat in a wonderful broth with an egg, pork belly and noodles at a hundred other places for the same price. It’s a $9 meal. Maybe.
