The food is always good. We usually get a sushi but have recently we have had both sushi and a bento box. Both were really good. They employees are friendly. It’s a smaller restaurant but they appear to do a good take-out business as well.

I ordered the chicken fried rice and shrimp tempura roll. The shrimp tempura roll was warm, the avocado and shrimp was mushy, the roll itself is very small and altogether it was bland. Ive never not finished a sushi roll but this one I had to just toss, even soy sauce couldn’t save it. The chicken fried rice was alright. It was fresh and they packed my to-go container to the limit but its just unseasoned chunks of chicken breast in an otherwise bland rice bed. The staff was nice. Inside is very small with very limited seating with extremely harsh bright white lights. It was not worth the almost $30 I paid for two items. Very disappointed.

Once in a while I have this extreme urge or uncontainable desire to eat nigiri sushi and a small plate of sashimi. And, without question, Bento Sushi is the place that can always fulfill my wishes. The sushi is always beautifully presented, and so fresh!! I was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, so I know what real sushi tastes like. I first came to Albuquerque in 1965 to attend college to study Spanish. I am so glad that I now continue to live here in Albuquerque, in this Land of Enchantment. So much diversity of culture, not to mention the excellent mild climate here. The sushi chef(s) here at Bento Sushi are superb. One doesn’t have to be a Japanese to make superb sushi. Sushi is now world-wide popular food. What more can I say!!

This the best place in Town to get Sushi!
The food is always fresh and prepared to perfection. They have soothing music playing very comfortable environment. Sushi Chef Jose is a Sushi Master always delivering. Amazing egg drop soup. I recommend any chef specials and my favorite roll is the Phoenix roll.

It’s fine. It’s not great and it’s not bad. Spent about $120 on 2 bento boxes and 3 rolls with 4 fountain drinks. It was fairly empty the day we went. Nothing blew me away. It simply was average.
New review 1 year later. Went for take out today and got the sashimi for 2 for $80 (see take out pictures). It was again just ok. I think this will be the last time I try this place. You can see in the pictures the qty and quality. Meh.

Very good food in a small intimate setting. The service was wonderful and they were very attentive! I’m so glad we chose to eat here. I will definitely recommend and come back.

Upon walk-in it’s very small limited seating but definitely worth it. It’s melt in your mouth delicious. You can tell the fish is fresh and the service is wonderful. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Bento Sushi, who is, in this critic’s opinion, nothing less than the finest sushi chef in Albuquerque. I will be returning to Bento Sushi soon, hungry for moooore!

Japanese food is definitely my favorite, and this place is amazing!! Bento boxes have lots of food, including soup, salad, egg rolls, sushi, and shrimp tempura. Locally owned, staff is super friendly! Food is always fresh. Pictured: orange chicken, jalapeño chicken, and vegetable tempura bento boxes. BEST SUSHI IN TOWN.
