The last few times I’ve been to this Bento has been sub-par. I accept that restaurants such as these use pre-cooked, frozen foods, but getting food that’s not fully prepared is disappointing. Especially given the price and, as seems to be the norm lately, a request for a tip before food and service is provided. For my experience today, my party waited 23 minutes to get an appetizer and the food arrived 1 minute after that. The is disappointing as we were the first customers of the day so as far as I could tell, no reason for a significant delay.
Specifically, the appetizer was barely lukewarm and the chicken katsu was nearly the same.
FWIW, this is the second negative review of a Gainesville Bento I’ve submitted. I don’t know if this is a management issue or not

Wow, haven’t been here in a long while. It was so empty, for lunch time on a Saturday. There was only one other person dining in. The 2 employees were awesome Attentive, pleasant and patient. The food was tasty and the presentation was nice

There were only a couple people working. They were out of teriyaki chicken at 7pm. My Bento tray was okay, but they brought the wrong sauce. The stir fried rice was completely bland. The restaurant was a bit dirty and the men’s room was out of order. We were pretty disappointed as we’ve had much better in the past.

My server was a fantastically kind and professional young woman named Adrian. She took my order perfectly and delivered it to my table with everything I needed. She was attentive to my table during my dining experience. The preparation of the food was exactly as it should be. Everything arrived hot and fresh as ordered. Relaxing music was playing while I ate and sat under the blue ambient lighting. Overall, a very lovely experience. Special thank you to my server, Adrian, at Newberry Gainesville, for being a positive part of my day and experience at Bento’s.

Food was great. Staff was friendly and service was good. Location is hot. The A/C definitely isn’t working properly and it felt absolutely gross inside. We went for a local fundraiser. The heat inside is absolutely offputting enough that I doubt I’ll eat on-site there unless it’s been addressed.

I ordered online here for their chicken and steak hibachi rice bowl because Uber Eats was doing a BOGO deal. I got 2 orders. Each order had 0 chicken in it and there were only 7 skinny strips of steak in the first order and 5 skinny strips of steak in the second order. For some reason there was also a hilarious amount of onions in each dish as well. Im talking enough onions to even make Shrek scoff. I’m very disappointed and will not be ordering from here again. Koto Hibachi usually has BOGO deals on Uber Eats (they didn’t this week) and is MUCH better in my opinion.

I was very disappointed with the Sushi we received at Bento. I was looking for a quality place and the Bento in Royal Park Plaza was recommended. While I’m all for anyone learning to prepare different cuisines; Sushi is NOT one of them. It takes many years perfecting this skill. Never should there be a young American woman, or man, preparing this for customers. Practice at home! The ingredient to rice ratio was totally wrong. And so was the size, 2 were California rolls and 2 were Tuna with Avocado, Cucumbers, and Cream cheese – 8 pieces per container(see photos). I will never go again, nor recommend. Extremely disappointed. I could have gone to Publix where it is so much better.

Any time I online order at bento it never provides good food! This time today specifically I order a mango green tea with no regular boba but only popping mango and I take a sip and get a taste of brown sugar boba!? And inspect my drink to see black/brown speckles on the inside bottom of my drink that i identify as reminisce of brown sugar boba. They must of put it in and then actually read my order and dumped it out without giving new cup! I immediately call and speak to the worker that made my drink and said “nope I didn’t do that” but I was like I have no problem driving to the location and returning this drink to prove it but then was told not necessary and would be assured to be refunded when I only wanted a new drink. I listened to the worker and then to get a email that I can’t be refunded when I offered to go to the location to actually receive a sanitary accurate order. I alway order this completely only mango drink and never had these brown specs inside my drink.
