I might have to go there tomorrow.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ben’s Kosher in Garden City is a nostalgic gem with a clean, cozy vibe and that classic old-school diner energy. We arrived right as they opened and were greeted by a super friendly front desk team. The service was warm, the space spotless, and the food? Perfectly comforting.
I ordered a simple egg dish with a potato pancake—crispy and golden. My wife had the nova salmon omelet with fries, and it was a hit. And let me just say: the coleslaw is top-tier—fresh, crunchy, and seasoned just right.
Parking is easy—right next to Barnes & Noble, so you can grab a book and a bite. The booths are cozy and intimate, perfect for a romantic breakfast or brunch.
Sorry, I don’t get the negative reviews. This place is top notch. But if I could make one request: please start carrying bagels. I’d be here daily.

Ben’s is a Garden City staple that hits all the right notes. Highly recommended.
On New Year’s day to make you leave a restaurant because the server demands you order because doesn’t like the fact you sat in a table for 4 when you are just one means , his POV is more important than mine as a customer, and another server (Lauren) intemtionally makes you wait because she wants to side with the other server instead of coming to serve me they all left me waiting ten minutes passing me by to attend people that arrived later than I.
Sure their food is great and most of their servers ARE AWESOME like Jeannete and others but sadly they made my 1st day of the New Year memorable for the wrong and negative reasons.
Thank you Ben’s for making my New Year’s day one unfortunately and sadly i have to remember with disdain and staunch dissapointment!
It used to be better. The bay terrace one was worse. Heard they were gonna close. His stuffed cabbage was cold. My tongue sandwich was awful. It cost $75 for the 3 of us and a $10 dollar tip. Never again told the manager Scott he did not care
The latkes are the best. If I can’t manage to eat one, I make sure to put an order in for a cold takeout.
The Cole slaw is the best. I like Cole slaw and pickles, so when that hits the table, I get psyched.
The Pastrami and Corned beef are the best, and it’s a toss-up, which I prefer, but you can’t go wrong either way. The knishes are awesome. The hot dogs are awesome.
I think you’ll find that everything is good at Ben’s, and I have just about 30 years eating from several of the locations.
Here’s my pro tip…
If you have a cold or a sinus thing and you don’t have a mom or wife to facilitate the making of God’s medicine, or what we call ” Jewish Penicillin”, you can get “Grandma’s soup” with a Matzo ball from Ben’s and rest assured your getting what you need.
It’s a nice and friendly atmosphere with great service and great food.
P.S. if you’re not adding Cole Slaw to your hot dogs topping repertoire, you need to figure that out.
