We came to Benny’s Clam Shack for the first time this August, 2025. Benny’s was a good find.
We had the fish and chips, lobster roll, chicken sandwich, curly fries, and a couple of cold beers. The food was very good. I would go as far as to say that the lobster roll was the best I have had in my life, and I used to make them as a sous chef! Everything else was good too.
The food took a while to come out, but I’d be willing to do it over again to see what else they might have that I’d like, such as the chicken wings, or those NY System hot wieners.
I’d definitely say to give Bennys a shot. It was a nice surprise and the food was really good.

The lobster roll was delicious (30 dollars the average sandwich)! Lot of tasty meat! Nothing special but lobster flavor is “unique” so I enjoyed every bite. I can not say the same of the coleslaw. Little portion and it wasn’t delicious, just ok. French fries really good! But I am not fan of those. So I suggest more salad and less fries.
My daughter ate the jumbo shrimps and she loved her lunch. My boyfriend and my son ordered fish and chips and they were ok with that. I watched people stopping for the lobster roll and for a special lunch for 2 (clam chowder soup and clam cakes) 14 dollars for a couple. I didn’t try that I like the idea.
Customer service was great. The young boy in the register machine was so kind and polite. He took the order and he wanted to be sure that everything was OK. Thank you!!!!

Wow! Benny’s blew our expectations out of the water! We used to live in Rhode Island but moved away and we were back in the area visiting. In the mood for clam shack type food and without the patience for the line at Monahan’s, my husband and I had dinner at Benny’s. We got the snail salad, fish tacos, and clam chowder and everything was excellent. Snail salad was super fresh and chowder was superb (dill was a nice touch!). The fish tacos were next level! After my husband’s first taco, we ordered a second order of fish tacos to go. I wish we would have gotten a side of the slaw, it made the tacos. We will be back the next time we are in the area! Skip the line, go to Benny’s. It’s not to be missed!

Went with my father for what we thought would be a quick lunch. The lady running the front was very nice albeit overwhelmed. Ordered 3 Hot dogs plus a beer and soda that ran me 35 dollars. We were then informed during our 30 minute plus wait (with 2 other customers in the restaurant) that the owner was coming and that he didn’t want anyone eating inside. I get that it’s a nice day and its a good look for the business. But if thats what you want, don’t have an indoor dining area. Food was okay. The only positive thing about the experience was the Cashier who apologized for our inconvenience. Very surprised the place hasn’t gone under with how incompetent the owner is. If you’re reading this. Reconsider your life and think very carefully about how you want to run your business. Avoid this place like the plague.

The food was DELICIOUS!! I got the fried scallop plate and the scallops were HUGE, sweet and delicious. The fries were good too. Small portions, big prices, counter staff wasn’t particularly friendly or nice, but the scallops were worth it.

There weren’t many people there. It didn’t take more than 20 minute to get 2 bowls of chowder and dozen clam cakes. The staff was friendly and polite, when the order was done they came and brought it out to us. The food was great. Definitely worth the money and we will definitely be back for more.

I would like to state first and foremost that the nice woman waitressing at this location deserves so much better than the way the owner of this establishment treats her. I and the rest of the patrons were forced to listen to him berate and swear at her repeatedly for his own mistakes. I watched him hand the waitress the wrong type of chowder three different times. Screaming and name calling her each time. As well as continuing to utter random obscenities as she was walking away and tending to the clientele.
I am very curious as to how well the rest of the afternoon went on 8/10/25. As I was leaving the owner was yelling and swearing at two women in the parking lot who had the audacity to stand up for the waitress. The patrons waiting out front all leaving.
The owner is a vile and apparently inept fry cook. I feel bad for anyone that has to interact with him. I especially feel bad for his dog. The dog that was wandering around the kitchen. Is that food safe?
The food was disgusting.
Benny, could you please provide a counter point of view in the event my assessment of you being both inept and vile is inaccurate?
Additionally, as an industry professional could you provide brief explanation of the food safe standards regarding animals in the kitchen for us that are not in the industry?

Quiet little place of the main roads. Great selection of foods. Wings, dogs,fish clams. The greatest thing was the Beat the clock menu. Had our fill of fish and chips. Clam cakes and chowder. So good so yummy and affordable. Won’t disappoint.
