Stylish interior, great food, good service and value for money. We had king prawn malai masala and chicken bhuna. Both were great – in fact, the best Indian food I’ve had in quite a while. I’d walked past it many times but not been in until recently. The restaurant is a bit unprepossessing from the outside but once you’re inside you realise it’s a great little place. A hidden gem in Worthing’s west end.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been too and I’ve visited many!
Small unique restaurant with friendly attentive service.
The food was amazing, I had the sea bass, beautifully subtle seasoning that was sublime. My colleagues meals were also excellent – definitely worth trying the specials.
Great value for money with a bonus that you can bring your own drinks with no corkage fee. They do have a drinks licence now so can purchase alcoholic drinks if you want so a hybrid model – fantastic!
Definitely recommend a visit, worth booking as when we visited on a Thursday it was nearly full.

If you’re searching for authentic Indian flavours at unbeatable prices, this restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was bursting with freshness and tasted exactly like home-style cooking — rich in spices yet perfectly balanced.

– Authenticity: Every dish carried the true essence of Indian cuisine, with flavours that felt both traditional and comforting.
– Quality: The ingredients tasted fresh, and the preparation was clearly done with care.
– Value: Easily the most reasonably priced Indian food I’ve ever had in the UK — in fact, the cheapest without compromising taste or quality.
– Experience: Simple, satisfying, and memorable. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both authenticity and affordability so well.

✨ Final Verdict: A must-visit for anyone craving genuine Indian food without breaking the bank. Fresh flavours, generous portions, and prices that make you want to return again and again.

What a little gem Bengal Berties is. I can’t believe I had not seen it before last week. There were people in the restaurant who were regulars ! Why didn’t I discover it months ago ? It looks really warm and cosy from the outside , with soft lighting and warm decorations and as soon as you open the door the sound of happy diners soft music and the delicious aromas of authentic herbs and spices greets you. Plenty of tables , and it was reasonably busy for mid week too. There is currently a discount for Wednesday and Thursday evenings , so get down there. We had the house Chat , a prawn Malai masala curry and the Railway lamb with Basmati rice and one drink . Excellent service from Robin, tasty steaming hot food , and a great atmosphere , along with the price made it a very successful evening a day one which I am eager to repeat soon.

So happy this wonderful restaurant has opened in Worthing. We had two appetisers: the Bertie’s House Chaat and the Punjabi Samosas and two mains: chicken biriyani and Malvari Prawn, we were stuffed! The chaat was full of flavour and great texture, the homemade samosas were moreish. The biriyani was well cooked and delicious however the Malvari prawn was the star of the show. Outstanding flavour and a dish I would order again when I’m back at the restaurant. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious and great value! A much needed authentic Indian Street food restaurant/takeaway! The Karachi Karahi was really meaty and aromatic. The house chat with house spicy sauce was great and the Momos were fantastic!

Just had an order from them: while the main were fine, we got old papadums with bad smell, and most disguisting, they sold for fresh frozen paratha and store bought flat bread.
The dish Momo is actually 5 Frozen Gyoza cooked badly.
Will never order from here again.

ordered via deliveroo last night and were pretty disappointed. All the dishes spilt grease and ghee all over the bag and the pani Puri were soggy – which suppose could be expected in a delivery. But the main courses were so salty as to be completely inedible Even my husband agreed that the food was not edible, which is a great shame as we had very much looked forward to ordering, given the exciting menu and good reviews.

Hands down the BEST Indian food this side of Worthing! Try them, you wont be disappointed. Just don’t make the mistake of going to the more well known restaurant nearby, food and service really very average at best

The first table we set up was sticky so we moved and he moves this quite quickly it was great the food was fantastic and the surface was ok it wasn’t the best but it was ok the food was good the drink was good I was there with my son and his girlfriend and my wife we all had a decent meal enjoyed it the reason I haven’t given it a five-star is the reason I started to say it because the first table was sticky but we were sorted out very quickly
