Belly in San Francisco is a bold, flavor-forward spot that blends comfort food with creative, Asian-inspired twists. The menu is indulgent and unapologetic, focusing on rich textures, layered flavors, and generous portions that feel both satisfying and intentional. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels lively and modern, matching the playful energy of the food itself. Dishes are thoughtfully composed, balancing sweetness, spice, and umami without feeling overwhelming. Service is efficient and friendly, keeping the experience smooth even during busy hours.

Solid food with really nice staff in a really cute restaurant. My girlfriend and I stopped into Belly for the first time around a week ago and were pretty impressed with our food. My pork belly burrito was big and tasty and her Korean Hot Chicken bowl was pretty great (but probably could have used a bit more of the aioli sauce from the get go, but our server was really friendly and brought more of the kimchi aioli over which was really nice). Also, the habanero salsa I had with my burrito was incredible — pretty spicy, but also super flavorful. Overall I like the concept of Belly and think their food and service is pretty great.

Been living in Rockridge for awhile and finally got out to try this cute Asian-Mexican fusion joint!

Belly has a darling blue storefront, and the cute aesthetic continues throughout the dining area. Service was really friendly and the vibe is casual but inviting.

I ordered three tacos (Korean Hot Chicken, Cali, and Pork Belly) and enjoyed them all — fresh ingredients and packed full. I do wish they had a bit more flavor, particularly in the Korean Hot Chicken.

The salad was a nice surprise to have included and the vinaigrette was really refreshing! It might have been my favorite part of the platter.

Came to Belly with a belly empty; left Belly with a belly full! Pretty happy about that.

This place was really solid. Excellent breakfast burrito. Great tots, grilled cheese is really nice. Good Asian/South West fusion overall. Something for everyone.

Staff is very efficient, potentially to a fault, if I were to criticize anything the host was a bit overbearing with her service but it’s clear she cares very much and she was great.

Try it out!

I was visiting from out of town and had heard so much about all the outstanding food in Oakland. Belly sounded intriguing and different with interesting flavor combinations, exotic ingredients and positive reviews. Everything seemed like it was cooked properly (hence the second star for the kitchen doing the best they could), but unfortunately, the 3 very different tacos I had all tasted identically bland. Most of the flavor was deep fryer oil that was maybe right on the edge of needing to be changed out. Even the one that wasn’t deep fried somehow. How can something involving so many sauces have so little flavor? The only thing with any flavor was the cookie which was so shockingly salty I threw it away. The whole experience was cafeteria-like at best. Which would probably be fine for some people if it were priced accordingly.

The idea is admirable but the products are okay. The bowl is a mix of small bits of steaks, soggy fried, and fried eggs. The steaks are bit too tough. The chips and salsa are so-so. I wish the salsa is more flavorful. For the burrito, you get a taste of Japanese sweet teriyaki flavor mixed w Mexican guacamole wrapped in a burrito. Interesting experiment I would say. Come and give it a try.

Stopped by on a whim to try this newer Mexican-Asian fusion spot (lots of Korean influences) while in the area. I tried the breakfast burrito and the fish tacos were quite good. The food was exciting but maybe a little undersalted. Other than that it was priced highly, but not atypical for the Rockridge area.

Great food and surprisingly decent pricing. Each Taco was pretty filling. Top two taco Recos: Steak & Egg and Shrimp & Avocado. LA Cob is a must. Ask for the Habanero hot sauce too.

We each ordered 3 tacos platter and tater tots. I found the pork belly was kinda bland, and missing a bit of acidity. Great service, enjoyed their soundtrack (oldies).
