I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent experience at the Dairy Queen on Mission Avenue in Bellevue, Nebraska.
On Sunday night, I visited the location with my son. He ordered a double cheeseburger that normally comes with an onion ring on the burger. I politely asked the gentleman taking my order if the onion ring could be placed on the side, similar to how customers often request pickles or tomatoes on the side. I was told this could not be done. I asked a second time to confirm, as I was paying for the item and felt this was a reasonable request, but the answer remained no. There was no attempt to ask a manager or another employee for clarification, which was frustrating.
The following day, I returned and spoke with the manager about the situation. While she did state that she would explain the issue to the staff, the interaction felt dismissive, and there was no apology for the misunderstanding. I made it clear that I was not seeking free food or compensation—only better communication and customer service—but that concern did not seem to be acknowledged.
I also mentioned an issue from that same evening when I purchased a large twist cone that appeared to have uneven layers of ice cream. I was told that this was normal and that cones are weighed before serving. Based on my experience at multiple Dairy Queen locations, this explanation did not seem accurate, as cone quality can be hit or miss.
I want to be clear that the food itself was very good—the burgers were great, and the fries were fresh. My concern is not with food quality but with customer service and communication. The situation felt like a series of excuses rather than a genuine effort to understand or resolve a simple request.

Perfect little small town burger joint. Good food, friendly folks and it has a feel like an old soda fountain. I get it’s fast food, but it’s probably the only DQ I actually enjoy. Everything always comes out fresh and hot. Location is heart of Old Town and a perfect place for a quick snack/meal with indoor and outdoor seating. Swing on by if you like DQ or just a good burger on the quick.

Cashier couldn’t count change. Bill was $10.30 and I gave her $20.30 and she was lost. Never did get the correct change back. We left amazed at the stupidity.

I order a medium strawberry sundae and my children a small chocolate sundae. My childrens SMALL sundae was a lot bigger/fuller than mine. This picture we just left the parking lot so it was not melted.

Their Turtle Pecan Cluster is the best, This is the only Dairy Queen that puts enough pecan cluster in the ice cream that goes all the way to the bottom. This is the only one I go to for now on. Thank you

Great treats on a hot summer night! Be aware that the lobby closes much earlier than the drive-through. Closing time is 10pm and the lobby was closed at 9:10.
Edit 4/16/25 Went in just before the lobby closed last week and had some ice cream. It was well-kept inside and the employees were just great!

So this sounds terrible, but I eat dairy queen at least once every other day.It’s an addiction of mine.I know it’s terrible but I always get the same thing.A caramelSunday and I have been to dairy, queen long enough and often enough to know what their ice cream tastes like.And what mcdonald’s ice cream tastes like in the difference.So when I went to this particular location, I asked for a large sunday which is what I always get right off the get.I can see the ice cream is different.It tastes like mcdonald’s ice cream really disappointing and i’m not sure why they’re not using dairy queen.Ice cream or what they’re doing wrong, but it tasted awful.It didn’t look right, it didn’t taste right.It tasted like mcdonald’s ice cream, so it tasted like it was more ice and milk.I don’t know how to describe it, but if for anyone who’s reading this, that has had cheap ice cream before, they know exactly what i’m talking about.I love dairy queen, but I would never suggest going here

Serves food as some don’t. The blizzards are good just ask for chocolate ice cream for the mix of ingredients if you prefer. The drive thru could definitely be better so make wide turns and pay attention closely so you don’t scrape your car. No one wants a memorable moment of that degree!

Not a bad DQ & employees were friendly. Banana in banana split wasn’t very good & way ripe, so it took away from enjoying the treat as well. Not too much ice cream either, but a ton of whipped cream.
