It’s part of our tradition to come here before we go through the illuminations, which started back when it was Middle Chippy.
We’ve never sat in before, now an addition to our tradition. It does get busy so get there as it opens or else you may find there are no tables available.
Service was quick and the female serving was polite and kind.
Food was hot, fresh and really lovely. We had 2 medium haddock, 3 medium chips, 3 fishcakes, 2 sausages, 1 kids sausage meal, 2 curry sauce and 3 drinks. The total came to just under £60 for 5 of us (4 adults, 1 child).
The picture of the fish is incomplete, because my husband has no patience and had already eaten a chunk before I could get my phone out.
The fishcakes are different to what Middle Chippy served. I do prefer the Middle Chippy ones (breadcrumbs not batter, herby) but these were nice also, just different. Plenty of fish inside and a really good size. Shout-out to the sausages. They were nicer than your standard chippy sausage and a good size too! Also the curry sauce was thick and the best kind

Recently went with my grandson and fiance.food spot on service with a smile and lovely welcome from the young lady that was very busy. Even met with an older lady which apologised about the wait for food as they were busy. Told the lady Good food is worth waiting for and it certainly was would definitely go back. Thank you lady’s for a memorable visit I wish you all well and hope to see you and you’re staff again.

Fantastic fish and chips can’t beat it for £6.50 including tea bread and butter. Excellent waitress service and done with a smile. Visited again in May 25 still a fabulous fish bar with great prices and lovely staff. Still great prices. Tyler (waitress) was lovely.

This was recommended to us by the owner of our b&b and also two ladies in the cocktail bar where we had a pre dinner drink.
They were right it is excellent. Everything was freshly cooked, the homemade fish cake was brilliant, the curry sauce was yummy the fish was crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
We would definitely come again.

Very friendly staff however very disappointed with the fish. Ordered 3 cod and chips but only one was cod the other 2 were probably haddock and they were very overcooked. Paid £49 for 3 fish and chips and one sausage and chips wouldn’t have minded paying if it was nice. Waste of money will not be returning

Ordered the regular fish and chips special with bread and butter. Arrived with peas instead of bread and butter but quickly corrected. However the bread was coated in margarine NOT butter – this should be made clear.
The fish was delicious and freshly cooked. However, the chips had clearly been kept warm and tasted stale despite being hot. As the fish was freshly cooked surely the chips could have been too!?
Sadly this is not uncommon in chip shops these days – I’m sure everyone would rather with a few minutes for fresh food.
