We read it was a hidden gem, and that is an understatement when you being helped by Loagen.
She was amazing! She spent time with us, explaining the menu, the drinks, the sauces and restaurant itself.
The food was stellar… we had the chicken piccata, the lasagna, the Alfredo with mushrooms and the amazing Carbonara.
There wasn’t a thing wrong and when we come back to the area, it will be the first stop
I started with the beef tenderloin carpaccio with cappers, ground mustard (this really added to the dish), and parmesan. Very good, although the shredded lettuce was not necessary.
Next, a side dinner salad with house dressing, actually very good, just the right amount of dressing.
My main course was their Pasta Casalinga, sautéed chicken, olives, tomatoes, garlic, and parmesan. Very good flavor, but unfortunately, they overcooked the pasta with very little chicken. Family owned, open from May to October. I will definitely come back for another dinner. Don’t be fooled by the dirt/stone parking lot, It is worth the visit.
We sat at the bar and owner Matt was the bar tender! He gave great suggestions on the food and our meal was excellent! His wife Kelly gave us some ideas on areas to visit while in town and we were able to see some places that were not on our list.
If you are traveling in Northern Michigan, this is a must! You know if it is full of locals, it has to be the best!
