I had my first smoked bourbon drink here. The night time view was nice but I suspect daylight might be better. Our group had a fun time and the crew did a great job on our drinks. Note the bar closes kind of early on the weekends.

The food is seriously as bland as all the previous reviews talk about. Bring your own spices because it’s just boiled pasta without salt or pepper. Easy to say that we won’t be eating there again. It’s loud like a downtown Vancouver bar just everyone is grey haired. The waiter was fine, the food took a touch longer to arrive than naturally expected. Portion sizes are small, the view is a nice effect. In the end just eat at MJs steak house if you want to be satisfied.

Anniversary dinner last night and had a great time. The bar and drinks are really good. Food, service and atmosphere are really great. IMHO the best Italian food in the Vancouver metro area.

The diners who have been critical of the ceasar salad at Bella Vista at ilani hotel/casino must be comparing it to the result they expect with bland store-bought dressing. My husband and I enjoyed the best ceasar salad we have tasted last night at Bella Vista. The homemade dressing is a taste bud party: a lemon garlicky pungent creaminess that clings to each lettuce piece so deliciously! The handmade croutons offered a crispy, buttery contrast. And the parmesan cheese was fresh, nutty, and not overpowering. Next time, I’m going to make a meal out of this amazingly-crafted salad. I don’t think I’ll ever be happy with another ceasar salad anywhere else again. I’m hooked.

Last night was my worst restaurant experience in a very long time and maybe even ever. We had a party of 11 for my sister’s birthday and it took 2 hours for entrees to trickle out….when they arrived we immediately asked for checks and box’s…:3 hours total for this whole experience.

We ordered two appetizers, shrimp cocktail, and calamari. The shrimp cocktail sauce was super spicy, but shrimp were good. The Calamari was tasty, not over done or rubbery. Our salads were not so great, I got a ceaser salad that had way to much pepper and almost no dressing on it. My boyfriend got the caprese salad which was just tomatoes and mozzarella. He said it wasn’t bad. We both got a 20 oz steak, which was very lack luster. It came with truffle fries and asparagus (odd combo). The steak had lots of fat on it and was not the most flavorful.

We ate there tonight and I do not think it was that good. The atmosphere was that of a loud pool hall. The risotto was nothing near what risotto should be. The scampi was terrible. It was nothing but Spaghetti noodles without sauce and the shrimp was over cooked. They really need to go back to the drawing board on this restaurant.

Non è buono. The service was rushed, and the food bland. Nothing we tasted resembled anything remotely like authentic Italian cuisine. Emphasis seemed more focused on presentation than on properly preparing the food. Hopefully these things can be worked out with some more time but there are many other outstanding options at a much better price point in the Vancouver-Portland dining scene if Italian is what you’re craving.

The view was great. We wanted to try this new restaurant in the new hotel. They asked us if we would mind sitting in a booth. We usually like sitting in booths in restaurants, but we did not realize that sitting in a booth meant the view would not be as good as we wouldn’t be sitting at a window. But not a big deal. I stood up and went to the windows and took a few photos. The view of Mt. St. Helens is great. The food was another matter. We got the Eggplant Parmesan and the Vegetable Lasagna. They were both the most bland Italian food we have ever had in our lives, and we know good Italian food when we taste it. Food food was dry with little sauce or taste. The meal does not come with a soup, or a salad, or any vegetables. It is just a main dish. The prices weren’t bad. If you look on the web or at the menu they hand you, you will see 2 prices. The lower price is for an individual meal and the higher price is for a family style meal meant to serve 2 to 4 people. They don’t skimp on quality. My wife and I could have easily split one individual meal. But the food was so bland that we didn’t even bother to bring home the large quantity of left overs that we didn’t finish. Also, they don’t have a corkage policy and that won’t open a bottle of wine that you bring. We almost always bring our own wine to restaurants and they usually charge between $5 and $20 to open our bottle. This will be one restaurant that we will not be returning to unless they get a new and better chef. There are many other restaurants at the Ilanni Casino and most of them are very good. This was not one of them. And if you want great views in this area, try the Portland City Grill for better food and better views.
