The service was fine, but not super warm. The person at the register didn’t greet me or make any small talk; they just asked what I wanted. Not a huge deal, but it did make the experience feel a bit flat.
Overall, it’s good and worth trying, but not a mind-blowing burrito spot for me.
I write this post because this area has so many incredible restaurants with remarkable staff and servers and they deserve business over a place that allows profoundly disrespectful behavior.
I ordered guacamole on my burrito and it was left off-which of course happens. I told the cashier, and they told me to bring the receipt, I obliged. After looking at the receipt, the cashier told me to go open up the burrito and look for it. I said that I had already done this, and the cashier became incredibly rude. I went back and looked through the burrito again. When I came back to ask for the guacamole that was definitely not there, the cashier asked me to bring her said burrito which I did.
The cashier then searched my burrito with bare hands to verify that I was not attempting to – I suppose, steal extra guacamole. This was done prominently in front of the entire restaurant and was intentionally disrespectful and belittling.
There are too many better options, for this behavior to be endured.
I encourage folks to try the other restaurants nearby because this neighborhood truly has an incredible food and dining scene, and choosing somewhere other than Bell Street to eat not protects regulars and visitors experience, but also, the reputation of this neighborhood’s food service industry.
The pork? Tender enough to bring a tear to your eye. The tortilla? A warm, fluffy hug from the carb gods. Every bite was like a mariachi band doing a celebratory solo in my mouth. I didn’t eat this burrito—I survived it. I emerged from the other side of this experience stronger, wiser, and in need of a nap.
The staff was chill, the place had good vibes, and despite the fact that I looked like a construction worker trying to eat lunch in a wind tunnel (shredded pork everywhere), no one judged me. A+ for burritos, A+ for atmosphere, and A++ for helping me finally understand what burrito-induced bliss feels like.
Go. Eat. But maybe cancel your afternoon plans—you’re gonna need time to emotionally recover.
The burritos come with basic things like rice, beans, cheese and everything else is extra. And because it’s stuffed with so much basic there’s not much room for the meat that you choose, so that’s why I wasn’t a fan. But again overall it tasted fine just not perfect for the price.
It was cool that there was AC inside downstairs. Also there’s a patio outside.
Ordered the brisket bowl and received an over-beaned, greasy, extremely fatty (and low quantity) brisket concoction. I can pay less at the chipotle down the street for a much better bowl with much more customization. Would not recommend!
