Arriving at 12:15 on a weekday the line was out the front door. It moved decently fast. Two of us ordered mini beef sandwiches with fries and a drink. It took about ten minutes for our number to get called. Food arrived and it was good enough. Small sandwiches, but the small fries were bigger than expected. Beef is a bit bland but good. Parking here is tough; it’s a tiny strip mall of lunch places.

I was really excited to try this place because the reviews online looked pretty good.
The service was really friendly and the place had a fun vibe but we were all disappointed with the different food items we ordered.

I ordered the full cheezy beef on garlic bread, and added hot peppers and grilled onions. It was a decent bite, but I found the beef itself was a little bland. I loved the cheesiness and the onions on it as well.
Since it was our first time, the worker there gave us fries to sample – which was very kind of him! The fries were seriously delicious!
If I am ever in town again, I would give this place another try.

The cheesy beef on garlic bread is the best beef around!! I love how juicy and fresh it comes out to be when your order in. And the paper towel rolls on the tables. Overall it’s one of the best beefs around when you get sick of having Portillos flavorless beef. And don’t get me started with the fries…I call em crack fries because you can’t stop eating them. Overall if you haven’t tried it before treat yourself to a Chicago beef!

Growing up in Chicago and the recent TV series The Bear obviously, Chicago folks love Italian beef sandwiches. But, Chicago style.
To be clear, Beef Shack is not a typical Chicago beef stand like Al’s Beef or Johnnies, etc.
That said, the style of sandwich they sell is delicious.
And it seems like The Cheesy Beef is super popular. I ordered The Cheesy Beef on garlic bread. I gotta say, pretty yummy. I did feel like I was cheating on Al’s beef in Chicago. I just can’t get there sometimes.
I also had a vanilla shake. Also very good.
They do have other items on their menu.
But please stop by one of their locations and enjoy The Cheesy Beef. Great sandwich.
