After driving all the way home, I realized my entire order was—once again—a work of pure imagination on their part. I called, and they told me the classic line: “Just give us your name, we’ll put it in the book, and we’ll make it right next time.” The Plot Twist: I go back to claim my “make-good” for a $5.55 Roast Beef Meal. I wasn’t asking for a steak dinner—just the meal I already paid for and never got to eat. The staff looks at me like I’m asking for a kidney. After a huddle that felt longer than a playoff game, they informed me there was an “issue.” They would give me the roast beef sandwich… but the fries and the drink were off the table. I’m not even mad; I’m genuinely impressed. Imagine being a business so committed to “the hustle” that you’re willing to alienate a 10-year customer over three cents’ worth of syrup water and a handful of potatoes. They messed up my night, forced me to find a “Plan B” dinner, and made me drive back twice—all to draw a hard line in the sand over a value meal side dish.
It’s hilarious, really. Most places try to keep their customers; this place treats a $5.55 refund like a high-stakes corporate merger. If you enjoy being gaslit over a fountain soda, this is your spot.
Really friendly wait staff and plenty of seating.
Had the bacon cheeseburger which was a very solid burger. Better than your standard counter-serve restaurants. Good seasoning and an excellent amount of toppings.
Also the roast beef sandwich was excellent too for a fast food establishment.
I would definitely visit them again when I am in the area to try out some other menu items. It is not a surprise how they are slowly growing their locations. Great business.
In my most recent visit, the drive through attendant either could not hear me through the crackling speaker or she was not listening. My guess is the latter as I had to repeat what I asked for multiple times.
My fries were stale and poorly salted. Imagine! A place that was FAMOUS for that salt- people used to steal the shakers off the tables- had fries devoid of all flavor or freshness. My chicken wrap was dinky and falling apart with chicken that had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for ages. The shake I ordered was pathetic. Hardly any syrup was added and god forbid they actually mix it! What little flavoring was added was stuck at the bottom of the cup.
I genuinely used to recommend Beef A Roo to folks from out of town, but never again. I used to look forward to treating myself to Beef A Roo even if it cost a little more than their competitors, but not anymore. I would even speak to how great of an employer they were having worked their for six years through highschool and college, but not anymore.
It is sad to see how much Beef A Roo has changed for the worse over the years. And I get it, running a food chain is hard. But to me, they way they are running things now is so poor compared to what the brand used to be.
The WITCH with the turned-up eyebrows was very pleased with the food. It was, indeed, the best turkey club The WITCH with the turned-up eyebrows had ever had. The broccoli cheddar baked potato was very good. The WITCH with the turned-up eyebrows decided to go back the next night and order the same thing all over again because it was so good.
On the second night The WITCH with the turned up eyebrows was very pleased that the staff was much more relaxed about The WITCH with the turned-up eyebrows order.
Overall The WITCH with the turned-up eyebrows gives Beefaroo on Alpine four eyebrow waggles out of five. Recommended.
