This place is amazing. The kids ordered the cocoa vanilla and strawberry cheesecake and they were not disappointed.

These are pastries. They are iconic and sweet. No actual beavers are involved.

No it’s not real beaver meat. It’s ice cream and basically elephant ears with toppings. $9 for a beaver tail. It’s pretty big.

$8 for ice cream

It’s a cool place to watch the river and people. You can fish on the river.

First of all, I have to start off by saying that I LOVE Beavertails and will be back, but not at this location. My Aunt and I were passing through Sault Ste. Marie and booked a ticket on the Miss Marie Lock tour. My Aunt and I noticed the Beavertails right by the boat and were looking forward to having one once our tour ended. We noted the time they opened was at noon which is approximately the time our boat tour would dock. They mentioned the Beavertails on the boat tour and we had about three families that were from the US that never hear of Beavertails and asked us if it was worth it. We highly recommended it and we all gathered outside. 12:00 came around and they didn’t open the door. 12:05 rolled around and they still didn’t open the door. One of the tourists tried the door and it opened so we all walked in. The sign still said closed, but the hours said 12-9. There was a truck there so we figured they were getting a shipment of supplies in. We could see two ladies there by themselves so we knew we would all probably have to wait but we didn’t know how long we would have to wait. We asked if we could order. One worker seemed flustered and said that we only have one taking and making orders since she had a late shipment. We totally understood this. We asked her if she was able to fill our orders and she said yes, but it would be slow and that’s perfectly understandable. What we all just wanted to know was approximately how long the orders were going to take. The first family didn’t get a clear answer so my Aunt asked. We also didn’t get a clear answer, so I asked how long it takes to make one. She said approximately 5 minutes and then I said ok, so about 15 minutes to my Aunt since there were two orders in front of ours. The next person asked in line how long it was going to be and the worker said “We don’t have an exact time.”The lady then asked, “Do you have approximate time? are we talking 15 minutes? 30 minutes? 40 minutes?” FINALLY she said “15 minutes but maybe longer. Everyone seems to be so impatient!” I then mumbled to myself “We’re not being impatient, we just wanted to know if it’s going to be 5 minutes or 2 hours.” We just wanted to know if we were going to be able to have time at the museum or not. If yes, fine, if no, fine. I then waited outside so that the shipment could come in as the inside was quite cramped. Some other people did too. The US guests were quite disgusted as to how snappy the customer service was. and we had to tell them that this is not a good representation as to what most Canadians are like. Two of us that ordered both worked in food services (myself included) and it’s perfectly understandable that if a food shipment is coming in as customers walk in, it can be stressful, but that’s when you say, “Hi folks! We’ll be right with you. As you can see our shipment just came in so we’ll have to get that sorted out. It may be a bit of a wait, but we’ll do the best we can. We can roughly estimate the wait may be 15 minutes long, but it’s worth it, I promise!” Their menu board wasn’t plugged in so we had to ask what was on the menu. And as soon as we put in our orders and the two were making our Beavertails, they were gossiping about us right behind the counter. I rate the actual Beavertails a 5, but the costumer service at this one a 1.

We stopped by here to try out beaver tails for the first time. I went for the cinnamon sugar with a squeeze of lemon. It was perfect, fried but not overly oily, sweet but not overly so and crunchy and satisfying. The price was a little high for what you get but I would return. The best part was the employee who was super friendly and enthusiastic.

5 people in the kitchen and not a single order was fully completed in the 30 mins of us standing there. The staff kept making random tails and poutines but none to fulfill one of the orders. There was about 8 people in there that were all waiting to receive an order. After watching a girl receive one of the 3 beaver tails she ordered and had been waiting for over 20 minutes at that point. I watched a man who had just walked in and ordered receive his. I had to re tell them the orders of everyone waiting and they were all done within 5 minutes. When I asked who was in charge they couldn’t decide on a guy. Also when nobody would pick up an order they kept saying “oops more for us later” and giggling. This is extremely unprofessional. I am not impressed. I should not have to be telling all of the staff how to do their jobs. Also someone kept coming to the back entrance of the store and goofing around with the staff. Please have someone look into this.
