Came on a Sunday night, the place was at about half capacity. Luckily, there was street parking nearby. Lighting was very dim (much darker than in the photos). Our specific table was also very close to the one to our left, so when another group sat down it was a bit awkward sitting so close and each of us fully hearing the other’s conversation, despite it being pretty loud inside.
Waiting for service was the biggest issue: it took nearly 30 min to place our orders, another 30 min to get the check, and another 25 min for the check to be returned. Tried unsuccessfully to get the attention of our waitress, who seemed to be covering the entire row of tables inside.
The burgers were fantastic but small in portion. They come medium rare/ with some pink by default. They are neatly wrapped so your hands don’t get as greasy eating. The fries aren’t included and are sold separately, but the portions are decent. Burger + fries are $15-$19, which is a good value. We finished everything feeling full but not too full.
So good food, but because of the time spent waiting the highest I can give is 4 stars.
I tried their seasonal artisan soda which was a mango, and it was quite good actually.
I ordered the Magnolia Lane Burger (beef and brioche)
Very good burger even with just one patty. The bacon was the perfect texture for me, not too soft with some crunch. The pimento cheese was a great idea for this burger. The lettuce isn’t crunchy or crispy, it adds more of a…flavor absorbing or neutral value to the burger. The tomato isn’t overpowering and’s pairs well with the onion.
I had it with the Duck Fat fries, (their ketchup that comes with it is actually refrigerated which is very cool, and they have some sauces that cost extra. I tried the Apricot Mustard which was really strong! I liked it and I will try their other sauces if possible, though I actually really likes their fries even on its own.
Good service, nice vibe, only regret is not trying a milkshake which is one of the things they are known for but I will be back again for that.
On the other hand my burger with the goat cheese and tomato jam was a slam dunk! Great balance of sweet, savory, and salty and cooked just right with some pink inside. The sweet potato fries were just average in our opinion.
In general it’s a cute place with a good atmosphere to hang out. Unfortunate that my husband’s burger was such a miss and I couldn’t rate it higher, but your team is as good as your weakest link and I had to go based on that this time.
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing the service was great and the food was even better amazing prices.
