We happened upon a magical place on our way to the lake yesterday. Just the day before, my son said, “Mommy, I’m going to invent gluten free chicken nuggets one day!”
Then @itsabeautifulday.love entered the chat with THE CUTEST vibes, amazing service AND gluten free fried chicken and waffles with a heavenly pecan and maple emulsion.
And yes, if that wasn’t enough, my mermaid matcha was blue and topped with edible glitter!
So, like, I don’t know what your Sunday brunch plans are, buttttt they should definitely be there! ✨️
From the moment you walk in, you can feel the heart behind this place. Brian, the owner, is not only incredibly sweet and welcoming, but also deeply knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He takes time to talk to guests, share insights about the food, and make sure everyone feels genuinely cared for.
The food? Absolutely outstanding. You can taste the quality and intention in every bite—from the ingredients to the preparation, everything is done with thought and love. Whether you’re in the mood for a clean, healthy meal or something more indulgent (or both, like I was!), this spot hits the mark.
The decor and ambiance are also just so cute—warm, inviting, and full of charm. It’s the kind of place you want to linger in, whether you’re catching up with a friend or just treating yourself to something special.
This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a reflection of someone who truly loves what they do, and it shows in every detail. Can’t recommend it enough.
Two years later. Not too much has changed but the service was 100x better. There was only one server and she got a little busy but she was working her butt off. The food was still amazing and best part, we didn’t have to wait an hour for it. I really do like this place and think it’s one of the best breakfast spots in La Quinta so I’m glad we had a better experience. Won’t wait so long until our next visit this time.
Old review:
The food here was delicious. I had a burrito that had some sort of sauce inside that was top notch. Only thing, it took about an hour to get our food!
The service was not top notch.
Our server took our order then never came back. We had to ask the bus boy to find out what was happening with our food. Didn’t even bother asking for fresh coffee and some water. We almost put $20 on the table (for drinks) and left before food came because we felt forgotten.
Luckily the food was delicious and brightened our mood back up but I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you have hours to spare.
The non alcoholic drinks were okay, next time I’ll get a coffee. My Coco chaga drink was a little watery. I ordered the honey chicken sandwich. Here’s the thing: I love the flavor of the chicken with the pickles and house made hot sauce BUT . . . Whatever liquid was all over my plate SOAKED the bun so my sandwich became a soggy mess halfway through and the bottom bun disappeared before the rest of the sandwich. Next time I’ll ask for the wet ingredients on the side. The atmosphere is very cute. I enjoyed the clean open space and the optional seating areas away from the dining area. The service was the best part of my whole experience. The server greeted us and was extremely patient as we took quite a while to be ready to order. He was also very kind and understanding with us having babies and strollers inside. Overall a good experience. I will return!
The Ahi Tuna was fresh, flavorful and was a great option to choose 1/2 & 1/2 to enjoy both greens and rice. Add avocado to many dishes or leave as is and your choice will still be just right. Their chicken salad looked yummy and the apples added an extra crunch.
This time, we ordered a waffle and were told the iron “just needed to heat up.” Twenty minutes later, a manager came out saying the waffle machine was broken and they had to 86 it — which completely contradicted what we were told. Meanwhile, only one person seemed to be cooking, the staff was telling walk-ins there would be a 45–60 minute wait, and we watched multiple tables seated after us get their food first.
After waiting over an hour, we were asked if we were ready for the check — even though we had never received our food. Once the food was received every item was cold and congealed, forgotten under some dim lit food warmer in the back this whole time. When we tried to explain the situation to the manager, he just stared at us with no reaction, said “OK,” and walked away. No apology, no effort to fix anything, nothing.
That was the final straw. This place is not what it used to be, and we can’t recommend it anymore.
