I live in Denver, Colorado but my roots are New Mexican. All my family is from Taos, NM area. Today’s visit was amazing. Your food was delicious and I always order “Christmas” when I eat NM cuisine. Thank you again! I highly recommend. ❤️

This “humble place” is not a place to skip. The food is crazy delicious for the price point, which is insanely low. Red and green sauce is definitely New Mexican chile; not peppers or chili but good ol’ NM chile.
The service is amazing, drinks never empty. Refilled the moment it was “low.” Server had the perfect balance of being there but not lingering. Attentive but allowing guest to eat and talk.
If you need a place to take someone out without breaking the bank, this is the place.
“Have a blessed day” as said by the server!

I got the breakfast enchilada plate and oh boy was it fresh and ever so good! Just what I was looking for this morning and craving. The service was outstanding and the owners are ever so sweet. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re looking for some real authentic New Mexican food! Thanks Bea’s

When I moved to the area a few months ago, I made it a point to try all the local spots—especially places that serve Menudo. I stopped in here one Saturday morning, went to the counter, and waited. And waited. And waited. The person working walked past me at least five times without acknowledging me, so I eventually walked out.
Fast forward to today. I happened to be nearby and decided to give it another chance. This time, the same employee acknowledged me, took my order and my payment… and then I waited again. Twenty minutes passed before I finally got his attention. His response: “You’re up next.”
Ten more minutes went by. I told him, “You should have let me know if I had to wait 30 minutes for a cup of soup.” Instead of an apology, he said, “Did you see the size of the table I was handling?” I told him he should have said something if he knew it would take that long, and he simply walked away.
Eventually, who I believe is the owner, Bea, brought out a large order and tried to hand it to me. I told her, “I ordered a menudo.” Ten minutes later, she handed me a bowl of watery, mushy broth that tasted like hominy water with a couple pieces of meat, barely lukewarm—as if it had been microwaved. All for $13.75.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. But the service and the product here are genuinely disappointing. They told me they wouldn’t charge me after I was already charged. Not holding my breath.
Safe to say, I won’t be returning—and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone I know.
FOLLOW UP: Yeah, they took the money…like I knew they would.

I’ve been coming here w my dad for years every time im in town. A hidden jewel that deserves a better location for more patrons! Family owned, service always great, and love the sopapillas. Flavorful food and not over salty like most places these days!

Food was delicious! Had the breakfast burrito, Christmas ofcourse! Good pricing that matches the meal. Wish Albuquerque would clean the surrounding area. That is the only issue that could be problematic. To be clear, we had no issue with folks down on their luck, just looks bad for anyone who may not be familiar with the situation in this part of town. The restaurant deserves better as the the food and staff are some of the best! I will for sure be back…..like tomorrow!!

Hoo boy does this place deliver. Its location is not for the faint of heart, but those bold enough to venture into the heart of the “international district“ will be rewarded with some of the best New Mexican food in town. I work nearby and have been working my way through the menu. So far the burritos, tacos, enchiladas, carne adovada, beans & rice, green and red Chile are all fantastic. It gets better every time I come in. It looks like they also have beer and wine on tap but I never tried it. Oh and it’s super reasonably priced. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You can also call In and pick up if you’re scared.

Im ashamed to admit that its been 20 years since ive been here. It was absolutely great. small updates but its a time capsule. worn on the edges and still a few hints of the carrows or jb’s i think it once was. Ordered the huevos, and a side tortilla. and normally id say id want the hash browns cooked more, they were soft but so good and buttery, tortilla can give Durans and Kaps a run for the money, and the bite of the breakfast soapa and papas was delightful as well.
Its easy to pass this by, griffs is gone, its a little rough neighborhood. but only ran into friendly obviously long time customers. Go support mom and pop really good breakfast and lunch!

The place used to be a Pizza Hut back in the day, and it is quite evident from the typical shape of the building’s roof, to the interior, which truly feels like you stepped back in time to 1978. From the baby plastic dishes they use to serve the chips and salsa (the tiniest tortilla chips I have ever seen in a restaurant, with literally one spoonful of salsa, see pics) to the plastic plants used as part of the decoration. I had the huevos rancheros, which came with 2 sopapillas, corn (or flour, I chose corn) tortillas and beans. I had coffee with this, they charged me almost $4.00 for it, and the waitress only came to refill my mug one time despite the place being empty, not busy at all when I was there. The huevos were served in this funky green plastic-looking skillet, which made it look quite unappetizing, the dish came with rice but you couldn’t tell because it wasn’t mentioned in the menu, and because everything (eggs, tortillas, rice) was covered by the shredded cheese, the salsas, and the refried beans. The rice was hard, undercooked and flavorless, the sopapillas were fresh but rather small, and instead of giving you a bottle of honey, like all real traditional New Mexican restaurants do, they give you 2 packets of honey, which cheapens the whole thing even more. Service was ok, neither rude nor pleasant, but you could tell the server was either having a bad day, or that she’d rather be somewhere else. The bathrooms are filthy. The only good things I can say about the place are that it is relatively cheap (about $19 for “chips and salsa”, the huevos, the 2 sopapillas, and the coffee), and that there’s plenty of parking. Other than that, I would try to find some other place to placate your New Mexican food cravings.
