BearWalrus absolutely knocked it out of the park. The food was incredible and the whole place has such a fun vibe, but the real standout was the service. Tony was awesome -super friendly, helpful with recommendations, and made the whole experience even better.

Now for the food… the ribs were next level. Perfectly cooked, ridiculously tender, and packed with flavor. And the Frito pie? Total comfort food heaven. Every bite was better than the last.

If you’re looking for great BBQ, a fun atmosphere, and service that makes you feel right at home, BearWalrus is a must. Already looking forward to the next visit!

Hands down, the best restaurant in Rock Hill! Everyone that works there that we have met are attentive, friendly, and just wonderful to be around. We have visited every week since they have opened, enjoying the daily specials as well as many menu items, with everything being absolutely delicious. The prices are reasonable for the high quality of food received and generous portion sizes. Toni, Corbin, Mike, Jake, Tiffany, Matt, Carly, and Philip are amazing and make every trip in enjoyable. We love this restaurant!

I wanted so badly to give five stars on all of this on my first visit but I just couldn’t. I think because they are still new, they have to iron a few kinks out. All of the food I got was delicious when it was cooked the way it was supposed to be cooked. I had to send the hush puppies back because they were raw inside. I also had to send the crab cake back because it was too mushy inside. My steak came out lukewarm in slices and the butter on top was still solid and not melted. It was very flavorful but I would have liked a hot steak with melted butter on top. Once they re-cooked the hush puppies and crab cake they were delicious. I asked for the Asian pear salad and it was very good but the dressing was very very tar, too much vinegar taste. But I brought it home and added some balsamic vinaigrette and it was delicious. The mac and cheese side was also scrumptious. The owner/manager came by the table a few times and he was a very nice guy and was eager to make sure that we were happy and pleased with our meal. I didn’t want to complain. I just tried to give some constructive criticism with the butter on my steak, but he did explain that they don’t have heat lamps and things like that. I should have suggested using a torch or whatever, but I want melted butter, haha. Speaking of butter….the butter that was served with the hush puppies was divine. It was a honey butter and very very good! We had a waitress named Toni, She was very nice but not attentive enough unfortunately. She disappeared for quite a while…while my friend was trying to find somebody to get her some more tea and then when we asked for to-go boxes it took forever. I think she forgot about us. So overall, it wasn’t a great first impression but every new restaurant has moments like this. They’re just trying to see what works and what doesn’t. So it definitely hasn’t deterred me from going again. Because at the end of the day everything was flavorful and delicious. So I will be back! I would like to try some of the other things on the menu.

I can not say enough great things about this place. So far we’ve been there twice. Raw oysters and grilled oysters were top notch. Really enjoyed the smoked fried chicken. But even more than the food was the wonderful staff there. From the back of the house and front of the house, thank you very much! Big shout out to Charles, Corbin and Tonyl. Looking forward to our next time there..

Ok I have given a few days to think about this establishment. So first impressions were good: sat at the bar by the oyster window, kinda awkward for the server and customer. Server was good; food:brisket was cold and not moist. Sides were great: Mac and cheese, yum: onion ring & slaw very good: pimento cheese hush puppies, excellent: spicy an sweet: we will return again.

Fantastic new food spot. Food portions were very generous and everything is made in house. Staff was superb with a fantasticly designed atmosphere. Ribs had a great amount of meat, well seasoned, and a perfect texture. I will definitely come back often and recommend highly to friends and for anyone who wants some good ribs.

Five stars isn’t enough! The service I received from Charles (Charlie) behind the bar was outstanding. He was quite busy but managed to do a great job and maintained a great attitude. The food was very good and the untitled setzer was also surprisingly good. I will return.

I went in with higher expectations for the brisket. I prefer thicker, juicy and super tender brisket, and this was kinda dry and chewy. It wasn’t horrible, but I was unfortunately underwhelmed. The mac & cheese was okay and I enjoyed the battered fries. Maybe I’ll give this place another chance another time and order something different.

GREAT atmosphere.
At 5:00 pm on Friday night there was a 25-minute wait.
We ended up sitting at the bar and had a nice experience with the bartenders, Matthew was great!

We got the hush puppies as an appetizer. It comes with this delicious sweet butter. Definitely worth it!

I got the ribs with macaroni and cheese and collards.
The ribs were tender and really great flavor. The macaroni and cheese was absolutely delicious… HOWEVER, they topped the macaroni and cheese with this very coarse black pepper and while the flavor was good, the texture was really off-putting. So I would suggest asking for no black pepper. The collards, the flavor was really good, but they were undercooked.

My husband got the brisket. Very tender, really good flavor. He got the beans and honestly they could be a meal in and of itself. They were so good!

Honestly, I see people complaining about the prices but it is a lot of food for the price! We both took home to go boxes.

My biggest complaint is actually how smokey it is. The smoker is INSIDE the restaurant. There is obviously a vent that takes out most of the smoke, but I don’t know if there is a leak or if it’s just inherently smokey but my husband and I both got headaches from being in there. So if you are sensitive to smells/ smoke, I suggest getting takeout!
