This is a nice little spot in an otherwise “food-dry” town.
The salad and chili were very good. The Idaho red trout was EXCELLENT.
Our only real disappointment was the bison ribeye. I’ve had great ones before, but this one was mediocre—very under-salted and fairly tough, even at medium-rare. The trout made up for it though; can’t emphasize that enough.
If you find yourself in Cooke City, this is probably the best dinner option there.

On the main road, great stop for lunch or dinner. Steak was perfectly cooked, vegetables were delicious, baked potatoes were excellent. Garlic mashed potatoes were surprise hit, the panko crushed trout was superb.
Extensive beer list. I’m sure the burgers are excellent. Service was efficient and polite, but the cooks in the kitchen are the secret to this gem.

I grabbed lunch here back in May. The vibe was good, and the server was fine, but man, the wait for food was brutal! When the burgers finally showed up, they were a total disappointment. I asked for medium, but they were almost well-done and ice cold—honestly, they tasted like they’d been microwaved. Skip this place until they sort out the kitchen.

Came here a few times for dinner while staying in Cooke City. Both times we got there right before a big rush which seemed to come and go. There’s about 10-12 tables inside and 3-5 tables outside, so seating came be limited.
I believe the server’s name was Sidney and she did an amazing job. Very helpful in explaining the menu, making good food and dessert recommendations. We tried many different items and all were good. The starter salad was very big. We tried everything from Salmon, Trout, Steak, Lasagna, Lemon Cake, Ice Cream, Cookies, etc. Favorite meal was the Trout and definitely the Lemon Cake for dessert.
Good food and service with a very home cooking feel.

We ended up stopping at this restaurant unexpectedly. It was on the side of the road and we found it to be very interesting. We had a group of eight people, and they were very accommodating to us, the food was amazing, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was very unique. They have a lot of decorations on the walls that are entertaining and worth a look around. We would recommend this restaurant to everybody.

Got to town later in the evening, after we checked into the hotel we walked down there for supper. We sat outside and watch the sun light slowly fade off the mountains while we ate. I had the Rainbow Trout with garlic mash; my wife had the lasagna. Both where fantastic. Our waitress Sydney was so nice!!

We stopped by yesterday, the day before memorial day, and this place was PACKED at almost 3pm! The set up was really cute and the burgers were so good and perfectly made. HUGE shout out to the hostess for staying so chipper with some guests in such an overwhelming late lunch rush. Our waitress and every other staff member we saw deserves their own shout out as well because despite the constant flow of people moving in and out of the restaurant and on the patio, they managed to keep everything organized and moving as quickly as possible all while smiling and making you feel welcome. I also need to mention for the beer drinkers, they have an amazing selection of montana beers!!

Just a few travelers stopping for a bite to eat. Not much to choose from on places to eat but stopped here because the rock store suggested it. $100 without a tip for us to eat just okay food. We spent just shy of $30 for three kids buttered noodles… no other sides came with it but two slices of garlic bread… my husbands fish was okay. The chili was decent but I’ve had better. The salad was good. However, our waitress was super sweet and made the experience better.

Great place to eat at in Cooke city. Got there in the evening for dinner and had to wait ~15 mins. You do have to wait outside when there is a wait which it was rainy and cold. Inside was cozy and great food selection. I got rainbow trout, baked potato, and veggies (which were delicious). Also came with side salad which was fresh with homemade dressing (got honey mustard) and it was some of the best dressing I have ever had. I’d come back just for the salad it was so good. We also got the brownie sundae with moose tracks ice cream. The brownie was delicious, would definitely recommend. They had huge homemade cookies for sale as well that I wish we would have tried. Service was great, fast, and friendly. Would highly recommend if in Cooke city.

Upon arrival you’re supposed to check inside with the greeter, or do it another like some axle did by yelling inside the door ” We want to sit outside!” All the while, we’re standing directly in front of the desk, before the other person arrived and she made sure to get seating for 7, when we’re a party of 3. We had to sit inside so the other axle and his clan hot seated outside!! I was furious.
Once the king was helped, she looked at me AGAIN and asked how many. Well that was the start of downhill effect. Ordered salmon and a burger. Salmon was over cooked and burger was quite dry. The server was OK, had to ask for drink refills 2x, as empty glasses in front of us was not an indication.
One and done here, so make your own decisions. On a good note, the side salad and soup were good. Prices a bit steep for selections and chips with burger, not French fries…
