We both ordered Beard’s Burger and each added an egg. The flavors of the various sauces were amazing and totally complemented the meat and bun. My husband got the salad as a side and I got the fries, so that we could share. I loved the garlic aioli for dipping the fries.
Also got the fried pickles. These are some of the best we have had. They are thick slices of pickles with great breading. Loved the sauce.
We also added a slice of chocolate cherry pie a la mode to share after Bad Bunny’s performance.
We had ordered the Augustinerbrau Lagerbier Hell, as my husband likes German beer. An employee called to say they were out and we replaced it with the local Dovetail Hefeweizen.
We loved the whole dinner. With my health I have to be careful eating inside restaurants, so this Summervwill definitely be enjoying the patio at Beard and Belly.
If you just want to have a drink and relax, this is definitely a must if you’re in the area. But get the cheese curds too.. you’ll thank me later.
Their baked goods (the pie crust is why I LOVE the quiche) are equally as awesome. Please, visit when you can and try whatever you think you’ll like. Because you’ll love it!
side salad with its ribbon cut carrot made my day. So good!
It has a nice, warm ambience and a dining room that isn’t cramped like some places in Chicago. We started with the fried cheese curds and they were excellent. We are from Wisconsin so are quite experienced when it comes to fried cheese curds and these would rank very highly. They came with what seemed to be a house made ranch that was great as well.
I had the chili mac and my daughter had the chicken pot pie hand pie.
Though I’m giving five stars overall AND for the food specifically, I think the hand pie could have been better. It has a fantastic flaky crust but the crust to filling ratio was off, too much pie and not enough chicken.
The chili mac was quite good, but similarly I felt like it could have been heavier on the chili part. In any case, it has a lot of flavor and just the right amount of heat. I also suspect that perhaps the pasta was homemade.
We ended with a shared slice of apple pie, my all-time favorite dessert, and it was excellent. Great crust, filling with the right texture and a nice oat based topping.
We would definitely come again.
The belly burger and beard’s burger were both fatty, hearty, and finger-lickin good! I tried deep fried cheese curds for the first time and loved the addicting crunch and fun texture on the inside. The first bite tasted like soft mozzarella cheese, but the more you bite the crunchier and chewier it gets while imparting a rich cheese flavor all throughout! Highly recommend the limoncello summer shandy for drinks! It is refreshing and tastes like the transition between spring and summer!
After this satisfying meal, we just couldn’t resist the tempting pies and sweets in the front! I got the chocolate mud pie and loved the Oreo crust. Surprisingly, it was not too sweet!
We came back last night for their annual cider fancy dinner event and had so much fun! It is a 4 course dinner with cider pairings. The main course tasted just how I’d imagine Thanksgiving to taste like. In the end, we learned so much about apples and cider production and walked out with a bit of buzz. Definitely a fun time!
